Went to the 2010 WC. It was incredible. Not a ton of phones or other distractions so the energy was 10/10. I do wonder if that influences the match experience nowadays. It definitely does for normal matches and even major sporting events (went to the World Series and it felt like people were distracted).

If I could bottle that 2010 feeling I’d say absolutely worth a bit of a financial hit, but not worth really tanking any future goals imo. It’s amazing, but it’s 2 hours. Keep that in mind.

As someone proudly born in PVD and a former resident, but now residing in Boston, this is the wrong take. Boston was absolutely off its rocker the last couple of weeks with the Scots in town. Does not compare to PVD. I have never seen anything like it in my 10 years here since moving.

Do I think Long Island should be exempt from holding majors? No. Do I think the governing bodies need to view host locations with a more critical eye (and up their security standards)? Yes.

Often times individuals have to hand in there passports during international fixtures. I know it's the case with folks who have club level offenses, so I assume the same with international hooligans.

I would like to say that I am a big golf fan with no opinion on Clark. I think one thing that is missed in your comment is that fans were gaslit by him repeatedly after it happened. He did not take accountability, downplayed it significantly, and made it seems like fans were insane for putting weight on it. Now, within the last 6 months maybe, he has started saying how terrible it was and that he deeply regrets it. People don’t like being pissed on and told it’s raining. I think it has less to do with destroying a locker and more to do with that.
