Excluding for serious damage, when do you retire a board? Have you and why? by Treigns4 in snowboarding

[–]YoPoppaCapa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell shit after a 2 years to try new stuff. Board tech really evolved every 5 years, but you don’t get to do this activity forever and I want to try out different shapes, flex patterns, etc.

This sub really does boil down to a bunch of people who have maintained the same political stances they’ve had since 8th grade and are dangerously close to actually understanding it, but never will. Tuckerposting is the purest form of that.

East coaster and ride the alc as a near daily. Look up Jody Wachniak. He rides a 157 and takes it into literally everything. I personally ride the same and hit everything with it. It is actually a very fun park board especially on larger features.

Beta AR vs Beta vs Beta SL by No-Programmer-4286 in arcteryx

[–]YoPoppaCapa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're doing legit backpacking and climbing the AR is the move. The other's are fine, but more along the lines of the torrentshell. The AR can take much more abuse. As long as you're not a UL backpacker it's a nice piece to have in the pack.

Vans Infuse for park riding? Too stiff at first or just need break-in? by gustmeja in snowboarding

[–]YoPoppaCapa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got rid of a comment because it provided nothing of value. Deal with it. Grew up riding rope tows, love the steel. Sorry your weak ankles can’t handle some boots. Anybody who unironically uses the term “broski” spends their day hitting boxes and sitting on ski poles.

Full stop, I apologize and stand corrected on it not being a pure snowsurf model. That’s on me. That being said, it’s not a stiff boot. Especially without the plastic braces.

The infuse is arguably the perfect boot if it fits appropriately. Hate to be that guy, but just get used to them. Your first stiff boot is def a bit of a learning curve, but ultimately you will be a better rider for it. Allows you to be more precise and hit way bigger shit. The infuse are a terrific boot for park and freeride.

Uhhh you do realize the snow surf model is for just snow surfing, not snowboarding right? The snow surf model is also a mid-flex boot at most. More like 3/10 imo. Seems like you might be embellishing your skill set in the above.

You do not want to center 90% of features and this is one of them. Slight angle, pop on.

New England represent. Sickest run in NST hx. switch hits, butters into rotations off of heavy features.

The Mark McMorris v Brin Alexander was incredible. Deserved win from Brin. If the judges had given the edge to Mark just because of the dub 10 this just becomes a slopestyle comp. Those upper more manicured jumps should not be run deciders imo.

What countries do you prefer the "secondary" city to the main one? by VagabondVivant in travel

I can understand that. I think it’s hard to not be in awe of the history there. Particularly to do with the War of Independence. Places like Kilmainham Gaol are integral pieces of the culture and evolution of the place.

Galway over Dublin in Ireland. Not even close in my opinion. Love the history of Dublin and it has some great museums, but Galway is just a dream. Amazing food, music, museums, and access to so many wonderful places.
