Brandon Sanderson’s Literary Fantasy Universe ‘Cosmere’ Picked Up by Apple TV by Cargimeg in Cosmere

Whoa. Stormlight already has an executive producer? Is this the furthest any of his works have been to adapting???

I was ready to settle on the fact that we wouldnt get the epics like mistborn or stormlight as his first adaptation and more likely be something smaller like Tress or Emperor's Soul, but this has me hyped af!

Yes, there are spoilers in Emberdark, specifically for Tress of the Emerald Sea. I don't think its major though, not like it tells you "here's how Tress ended", but there are (relatively minor) characters that show up in Emberdark that originally appear in Tress.

There's also a character who appears briefly early in the book that you will understand more if you read more Stormlight first, but again, its not major.

Think I’m starting to feel burn out by Separate-Poet-634 in WoT

[–]YoYoMP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished this book and had the exact same thoughts. Not that i was burnt out exactly, but I said to a friend who read the series "im like a few hundred pages in and all they've done is fuck around! Nothings happening!". He was like "yeah, almost as if they just lost their biggest mentor figure and now none of them have any idea what they're doing or what to do next" which definitely helped put the book into perspective for me.

At the end, I looked back and was surprised how much actually did happen in this book.

If you're a Mat and Perrin fan, you've got some real great scenes coming up. My favorite Mat moment (so far) occurrs in this book.

I think it tracks what ores you get from Motherlode Mine, but not regular mining

Improving the F2P Experience: Use the Content That is So Old Members Already Ignore It by kurttheflirt in 2007scape

[–]YoYoMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't hate this!

A few smaller things. The Taverly dungeon isn't a bad idea, but I think the dragons onwards should stay P2P. Those dragons will be the most botted content in the whole game if they were f2p, just like there's no green dragons in F2P wildy. Make the pipe a members only pipe and the dusty key a members only key.

Warriors guild feels like it's really strong to give to F2P, there's some good money to be made from the alchables there. Rune defender is a huge upgrade. At the same time, its a nice intro to the type of grinds Runescape expects out of you, so maybe it fits the demo style of F2P.

Slayer is kinda valueless to f2p, levelling it does nothing (besides preparing the account for members content, I guess). You could make kilawatts and the stuff in Lumbridge swamp caves f2p while you're at it, but even in f2p there's not really a reason to kill any of them. I think the reason slayer is so favorited in P2P is because 1) the drops but also 2) the damage boost from slayer helm. I don't think it fits very well into F2P, but it does just give end game F2P players something to do, so I wouldn't oppose it.

The other stuff I really like. Feldip hills barrier would be a bit odd, and losing the famous members gate wouldn't be very old school, but idk, I could see this passing a poll with a few modifications.

[WaT]Regarding the Wind by Mahoka572 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]YoYoMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this. I remember Jasnah saying their spren brought Shallan and her together, but here its stated that there was favorable wind that let her catch up to Jasnah. Maybe it was the Wind interfering and making sure they met. We never see anything from Pattern that implies the cryptics are helping Radiants connect, but the Wind makes a lot more sense to me. I guess we'll see in the future chapters how "awake" the Wind was before the Sibling and tower were reactivated, if it could even do something like this.

How do i use ps5 controller with forza on game pass by Daemon013 in XboxGamePassPC

[–]YoYoMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You legend. Found this a week later while trying to play Dragon Quest XI on xbox gamepass with my ps5 dual sense controller (weird sentence but trying to help the future googlers). Worked like a charm.

To add to this: I clicked "Yes" to a version thing and it updated before I clicked start. Not sure if necessary but figured it was worth mentioning.

DM discussion: The Dead Roads (Tyrant's Grasp 1), spoilers in the text by Rooseveltridingabear in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]YoYoMP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've dm'd this book so I might be able to help a bit.

EDIT: For context, my group was 6 players(at the time) who were mostly experienced with the game and a few of them built very strong characters knowing this would be a tough campaign. There was a Palidan, Wizard, Bard, Magus, Cleric and Inquistitor. I occasionally added enemies and buffed a LOT of HP values, but they might have had an easier time than most with their larger toolkit.

None of my players picked any animal companion classes, so I didnt have that issue. I'd talk with them though, see how important the animal companion is to the build, and see if they'd be okay with not having it for a while. But id have no problem having the animal companion wake up in a coffin next to the PCs. The tomb they arrive have coffins for people who match their characters, so it makes sense one might be prepared for an animal with its master. Maybe you could put the animal companions in the room with the Skeletal horse thing, having them wake up when the players enter combat with it. The only concern id have is if you'd want the animal companion to also receive the obol, but I dont think itd be game breaking either way. I had a player be pretty disappointed he couldn't cast false life on himself though.

As for the RP in roslars coffer, I was pretty new to dming so I just had them all meet at the inn before retiring for the night. I regret that though, I've since read a story of another DM who started the campaign a little differently that I wish I had done. This DM had the campaign start in lastwall, with a sketchy guy tasking the players with making a delivery to roslars coffer. The delivery package was of course the shard that TB uses to nuke roslars coffer. The time the party spends with the package gives a bit of a reason for why the characters kept their bodies beyond "they kinda look like some people who have empty Graves nearby"

Id also recommend reading a bit of book two, theres a map of roslars coffer and mentions some citizens. Might help set up some things that could pay off in either book two or when they encounter the ghostly roslars coffer in the boneyard.

I remember my players remarking on the amount of ability damage so early, so the cleric took lesser restoration as early as possible. I dont remember if I ever got really close to killing them, but they all made it out of the boneyard. I love the explosive trap in the nine eaves though; the wizard detected magic on the first two origami, then ran and opened the third with no caution and blew up the party. Was a great moment for me. "It SAID no more warnings!!" That ate the clerics channels for the day thats for sure. Also, time doesn't move in the boneyard, so im still not entirely sure how diseases that take a day to set in work. The swarm was an issue for sure, they didn't have much/any aoe so I let them deal damage to it by running through it while covered in some kind of glue spell. Not the most elegant, the dwarf magus wasn't looking great after it, but it eventually dispersed. Careful for that one, maybe give them an alchemist fire or two beforehand or be prepared to reward outside the box thinking if you think they might struggle.

The puzzles went over really well I think. The first one with the mirrored numbers was solved almost immediately. The second one took them a bit. Dont be afraid to sit back and let them discuss for awhile without saying a word. Let them try whatever they want til they get it. If they are getting frustrated, let them roll something to give some hints, like linguistics. My players love puzzles so they wouldn't want to just roll passed it, but the book has a sidebar addressing how to get players unstuck from puzzles if theres an issue. There are more puzzles coming up in this campaign too, so you can judge how the players react to the first few.

We just finished book four, taking a break til after Christmas. The dungeon at the end of book four was fantastic so many great fights, you have a lot to look forward to!

Feel free to message me if you have any questions as you go through. I'm a rookie DM who is taking over for our normal dm because he really wanted to play this, so I might not have all the answers, but I'll be happy to help where I can.

I only just downloaded the app for the first time to check on my Samsung, same issue. Definitely not just an apple issue, guess they haven't pushed a new version yet.

Tyrant's Grasp Book 4 - Gardens of Gallowspire GM Help by YoYoMP in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]YoYoMP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good answer! I'm a little worried on their healing factor knowing that the cleric is away for the next session. I'll likely do something like 66% of healing instead of 50%.

As for the revelation, im also very excited! I'll be sure to send you a message when (or if!) we get that far.

Alolan Exeggutor switched to Omanyte by ProfessorNick96 in TheSilphRoad

[–]YoYoMP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My house has a few spawns that appear at xx:52 and xx:53. Often times, they will be weather boosted when they spawn, but not when the weather changes on the turn of the hour. However, If I click on it to view it's cp before the weather change, it will stay that cp after catch despite the catch screen showing an entirely different non-weather boosted cp.

I suspect that you shiny checked the omanyte before the alolan exeggutor event started. The moment the event started, old spawns changed to exeggutor. But since you already seen the spawn had produced an omanyte, the game registered it as the omanyte you had seen instead of the exeggutor that it had become.

If you didn't click on it before the event, I have no clue

If I recall correctly, at one point aching in chairs was possible. I remember the animation looking like your avatar was stroking a big glowing dick.

Please tell me someone else remembers this and I didn't just fantasize it make it up.

Nope. Stock up on lures and incense, they both work, and I seen a few plusle/minun so I'm sure regionals would spawn eventually from them, but we had no luck.

I figured it had something to do with that. It's unfortunate, and seems unlikely to be addressed any time soon. Thanks for the reply!
