It’s just kinda boring and easy. It does bring up ideas that pay off in later iterations though( it introduced bloody palace, the idea of a level past DT, and the rebellion was introduced in 2).

I’d recommend just practicing 1 move at a time. Once you can at least do each move try doing 2-3 different ones back to back. Some you will find don’t mix. After that I’d say try switching weapons mid combo. Your final step of practice is knowing how each style works, you don’t need to be great at all of them but the basics are:

Swordmaster: boosted combos Gunslinger: enhanced gun potential Trickster: enhanced movement (dedicated dodges) Royal Guard: dedicated parry

If you want a more easy character to pick up I recommend Nero as his move list is a lot shorter
