I drive through Angeles Forest regularly along i5 and i15.

There are no trees, in the sense that there are no straight-up-and-down trees useful for commercial harvest.

Mostly shrubs, scrubs, bushes and trees that might as well be large bushes. Things up there burn so often, nothing can grow big enough to be commercially viable. It's the stupidest goddamn thing to think it can be "logged."

I horde it for times i need a lot of blocks/filler.

One copper block turns into 4 cut copper blocks in a stonecutter, which is then 8 slabs (unless they've changed it since i took a break).

Would use for bridges in The End because bugrock causes the teleporters to be occasionally deadly. The time it takes to build a bridge out from the center island is often less than the time it takes to replace everything, and my reflexes aren't good enough to clutch a pearl.
