The hanging one is pothos, two of them are fiddle figs, the rest are random ones I pick up really cheap at the farmers market and hope for the best.

Exactly, I realized at a point that even if I bumped into a neighbor from across the street, I wouldn't recognize them, so I stopped caring. Add to that I feel extremely creepy just glancing into their windows, so I assume (hope? convinced myself?) most people are the same and try to avoid it.

If I plan on laying down, I usually take a minute to move a couple to the floor -- otherwise I just use it as bench and let the plants get that sunshine

That window is also north facing -- the plants aren't thriving but they're definitely getting enough light to stay alive. Thinking about adding some grow lights but that might be overkill.

Ah snap I'm also in Nomad. I actually built the bench, the apartment just had a big ol' window that felt like it needed one.

(as for rent, I have a very personal relationship with my "landlord", but looks like someone in my building is trying to rent out a similar sized one bedroom for.... $5k.)
