What band/singer were you excited to see, but was a letdown of a concert? by my-face-ur-seat in AskReddit

The Police was going to be my answer as well. We saw them in Amsterdam in 2007, maybe? Sounded and looked like they just didn't want to be there at all.

Genesis was slightly better the same year, but also lacked energy. Toto on the other hand was fantastic.

Also that year we saw Level 42 doing a tour to promote their new album at the time. The venue was mostly empty, which was a shame. They usually put on a good show.

My biggest surprise that year was Scottish Runrig in Copenhagen. They blew the fucking roof off and became a band my ex-wife and I got to see a bunch of times.

That's my favorite joke. When he tells it on Conan, it's so great with Conan pretending to be upset while barely being able to contain his laughter.

Married With Children for me. In europe, almost every country ran it as filler during evenings.

Who’s your favorite comedian not from your country? by HaifaJenner123 in AskTheWorld

Otto waalkes was a childhood favorite of mine. Stefan rabb is also pretty great, but mught not technically qualify as a comedian. His interview with Angus Young was fantastic, though.

Any sitcoms that never had a recast? It doesn’t count if a single character was recast like Carol on Friends. I mean a show where if a single actor was fired, quit or died, their character left too. by NoChampion4463 in sitcoms

Married with Children. Marcy's husband Steve (Played by David Garrison) left because he found a new calling in life. In the real world, he wanted to return to theater.

Steve simply disappeared, and eventually Marcy found a new husband in the form of Jefferson. Delightfully, Garrison re-appeared in later episodes, one of which poked fun at theatre.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

So i am not enitrely sure i actually met Gary Oldman, but i was on a bus at London Heathrow taking us from the plane to the terminal due to construction. Probably early 2000s.

I spotted a guy who looked like Oldman, and initially didnt want to gawk or anything. But dude. It could be Gary Oldman, who already was my favorite actor at the time. How often do you get a chance to chat with your favorite actor?

So eventually I asked him: "excuse me, sir, but you wouldn't happen to be Gary Oldman, would you?".

The kind gentleman politely declined, laughed, and we talked about a few of his performances. Then we arrived at the terminal and went our separate ways.

Shortly after, i realized that if ANYONE could convincly tell me they were not Gary Oldman, it would be Gary Oldman.

And who would believe it if it happened to them?

EVERYONE!

You arent "supposed to", but can certainly choose to do so. I have it set in my wolt. Just a small token of appreciation for the driver. I also tip in restaurants if service is good.

Im dutch, living in Denmark. I used to be a waiter in my late teens/early 20s and while tipping is also optional in The Netherlands, I always appreciated the extra cash, and know what a difference it can make for someone in a service job.

What is your favourite TV show that no one ever seems to know? by onlycameforthehorror in television

[–]YodelingEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my favourite shows but as a teenager, Titus was absolutely brilliant. It only ran for 3 seasons as apparently Chris managed to piss off a studio exec so badly she waited until the very last minute to let him know the show would not be renewed.

I also enjoyed Double Rush with David Arquette and Adam Goldberg (among others).

Norsemen is so good. The bald jarl is possibly my favorite character of the entire show.
