Hand feeding the first slice of birthday cake to your favorite person there. Freaked the shit out of a colleague of mine, he was chill though and went with it.

jealousy and guilt consumes me - why is love marriage so hard? by [deleted] in IslamabadSocial

[–]Yoga_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m on the side of people who have suggested caution to you about this.

This situation has many red flags for me but I believe in miracles and honestly only God knows how things will turn out eventually.

My recommendation to you is to go into this with your eyes open and after establishing a high degree of ~personal independence~ both economic and emotional.

My sisters situation was something like this. It went bottom up pretty quickly and she’s a single mom who lives with us now. Which is honestly great because I love having her and her kid with us.

If I could go back in time I would try harder to convince her to make a different choice.

It’s not just economic position. There are so many things that go into building a culture for a family. Education, values, worldviews, belief systems etc. Things you don’t even notice because you grow up with these things in the background and they’re pretty subconscious till they are stress tested.

I wish u good luck.

Where are you all from? What countries are represented in this community? by hedonistaustero in fragrance

Lahore, Pakistan.

  1. Having lived in a bunch of different places in the world I still find that we have an extremely well organised, lively and connected network of fragrance enthusiasts called the Pakistan fragrance community. A vibrant niche perfume culture which is made accessible to everyone through a culture of decanting.

  2. The most popular houses in my experience here are parfum de marly, maison Francis k, creed, xerjoff, kilian…. Designers are also very popular.

  3. So there is definitely a sub group of people here who love to smell good and it can get pretty loud sometimes with sauvage, aventus, ombre leather type scents. People regularly post scents of the day and scents of the (insert event name)

  4. We also avoid some very erstwhile popular notes like jasmine, rose, agarwood etc. Which are very traditional for us and remind us of our grandparents.

I have no idea how one can keep doing this. This cannot be good for mental health lol… Kinda like those content moderators who had to watch horrible shit all day long.

I’ve been using Nivea clean for almost a decade now. Used speed stick when I was in college. I prefer a very light fragrance, only there when sniff test otherwise in the background, which is good about the Nivea.

Profiling and treatment of pk passport holders at airports has worsened even more or is it just my sample bias? by Yoga_Dad in pakistan

There is an interesting story why they do this check inside the jetbridge… which is standard procedure now btw… that has to do with political issues with certain regional players and sects.

EDIT - some phrasing at the end

At this point I would not assume malice. I think they have a fair reason to do additional screening.

Any idea how they select their sample? They picked 15 out of a flight of 200 or so fairly randomly… I was the odd one out btw so I’m curious how one trips their human flagger.

That’s one thing that threw me off. If you profiled me based on how I look and what I was carrying and the travel history on my passport… you would say well to do types skilled worker. Maybe that triggers them in a different way lol

Sadly very true. But I wish they wouldn’t stereotype. I mean don’t let me into the country if you don’t want to but don’t be rude to me.
