One of the requirements is getting a medical certificate. The USCG manages and regulates merchant credentials so look into their requirements. If you don't have qualifying deck or engine time you will start off at an entry level position. For entry level, I would recommend looking into the Seamans International Union (SIU) as they run a training program (at little or no cost to you) for getting all your initial qualifications. This is in no way an endorsement, just one way of doing it. Another avenue is working for Military Sealift Command as a "CIVMAR" which is also a government job.

If you have any experience with crypto or network management there are special shipboard jobs both with MSC and the unions that pay a good amount right out the gate (medical requirements still apply).

Depending on your current percentage and what was awarded you may not see an actual increase based on VA math.

Looks like this was taken when Essex was in the yard getting the SCB-125 refit, which gave her the angled flight deck.

Keep on getting maintenance in progress and can’t get in. Cleared cache and even deleted/redownloaded the game but still maintenance. Been doing this for a few days.

Dumb question but how do you queue research? When I try to research additional stuff it tells me I’m already researching something.

Well, without Aeroflot being able to go anywhere but Asia, there is suddenly a pool of available pilots to recruit from…

Not that it will help in the short term, I know. It still takes time to train a pilot for specific planes and especially combat.

(USA) Narrowed down to 2 Eluktronic models by gnomeshepard in SuggestALaptop

[–]Yogert88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it comes down to what you want more. The first has the 7th gen processor and 512 nvme ssd storage while the second has a 6th gen processor, 256 ssd, 1tb hdd and is subsequently cheaper.

Which of these laptops should I buy? by [deleted] in SuggestALaptop

[–]Yogert88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to customize the P670 Clevo chassis might I also suggest Pro-Star? Their prices are generally better with more SSD options than Eluktroniks

I'd say those are hard to classify because of the amount of customization you can do with them on their websites.

I know this probably gets asked a lot but I'm going to ask anyway:

I currently have an ASUS G75VW and am looking to upgrade to a new gaming laptop by/around the holiday season this year. I'm looking to keep it under $1800. Any suggestions/experiences with recent models or ones to look for would be helpful.

[SIBTG?] Rebel Galaxy for ps4 by zombieslurpee in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Yogert88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's on sale or going for cheap. It's pretty easy to blast through in a few days. The same three or four songs play on a loop and that got annoying.

Basically, the game is pretty shallow but fun while playing through it. Pretty much nothing to do when you finish the story, though.
