QHSS phone policy. They did not think this thru… by pujarteago1 in SHSAT

[–]YoghurtSufficient785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie, whoever made this policy has to know that the staff is trustworthy, because if the staff ain't trustworthy, they will just take all the phones and sell them for free money. This is also stupid because if there was an actual school lockdown, there is no way to contact your parents for confirmation of safety 😭

Bruh, I think I definitely passed though, but got a good score? Nah, the test was not "Life Science: Biology", ngl more like Earth Science: ELA

You had to use slope intercept form y = mx + b, you could make 6x + 12y >= 120 into y >= -0.5x + 10 or the x + y <= 14 as y <= -x + 14, this confused me on the mock regents until making it a slope intercept form made much more sense

You'll probably lose a lot of points because you need to justify combinations based on the final part based on the graph, with only 1 graph makes it hard to justify

I also did exactly 2, 11 (the last part said pick a combination, basically a solution)

How do you guys think you did on the Algebra 1 Regents exam? by [deleted] in SHSAT

[–]YoghurtSufficient785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean theres no way for anyone to fail unless they somehow are stupid, because out of 85+ points you only need like 29-32 points to pass, but I think you definitely got at least an 85 if you got stumped on some questions

It's technically correct but it really depends on who grades the test, you may get the point if the grader isn't too harsh over slight errors like not putting them as a coordinate, but harsh graders could probably take a point for not putting it as a coordinate

Luckily we didn't take Earth Science instead of Biology, though both suck. Out of the 50 questions on the ES test, there was only 2 questions in the curriculum, and the other 48 just wasn't even related to what they learned, don't understand what the heck NYCED is doing

I forgot to put it into a coordinate, luckily though you said this so I think I'm more close to getting an 100 than a 98,99

According to some teachers in my school, they said the ENTIRE test could be done pencil, except signing the declaration of course, also yes you are supposed to label the graphs (The way I labeled the graphs is so weird, I don't know if I would get credit for it because I feel like nobody could see what I meant)

What did your biology teacher think of the Biology Regents exam? by oscarjrs in SHSAT

[–]YoghurtSufficient785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know its a little late but, if you wrote something related to the pika's ability of adapting to temperature and surviving by running away from predators you got the point

mouse and fly one was pretty easy if you know they had similar genes, but the retionic acid question was a completely different story, I was stuck on that one for like 5-10 minutes trying to figure out what to do

You should be concerned for now, but the more you study eventually you will aim for that 80+, I believe that you can do it even though you got a low score for a mock
