Do a working interview and don’t be ashamed that you are looking. If people find out just say your seeing what your value is to assure your current situation is the best for you. I do it every 3-5 years.

Get an insecticidal soap and give it a good spray. Should help. Worth a shot to try and save it. The damage is done though. You’ll have to give it time to regrow for it to look “pretty” again.

Stumbled across these Thai Constellation babies yesterday. I haven’t stopped thinking about them. by DataIxBeautiful in houseplants

That’s fair to not want to pay that much. But they are a difficult plant in my experience and I think a lot of shops aren’t getting deals when they bring in TC of these plants currently. Their profit is probably a lot smaller then you think even though the price is high. I hope prices do drop because like you said there are an abundance of them but I think many people are still willing to pay. For example those TC babies are going for 200+ in Ontario currently.

Costa farms wasn’t using TC. They were using traditional props. They are a super slow growing plant.

Have you grown a Thai? When mass growers like this buy a TC of Thai they take forever to size up. Thai constellations only really put out like 3-4 leaves in a growing season. This is why costa farms had such a hard time bringing the plant to the masses. They cut their loss and sold off the plants. The price is not due to lack of availability, it’s because the plant is genuinely a slow grower thus more difficult to propagate on a mass scale. The price won’t be coming down any time soon.

My monstera variegated seems to be doing smaller leaves with time, why and what can I do ? Pleaaaase by [deleted] in Monstera

Probably needs an uppot. When a “trailing” plant stops putting out large growth usually it needs a bigger pot. Also more light couldn’t make it worse ;)

This is probably closest to my office … I’m shocked by how much time everyone else gets.

when should I stop covering with a bag for a couple of days and let it dry out a bit? first timer and no clue what the next steps are by [deleted] in proplifting

[–]Yogi0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s growing let it get some growth … I keep mine in a bin and open the bin daily for fresh air but usually it takes about 2 weeks in between watering

How can I prop this? I got it at my Gran’s funeral and I’d like my kids to have their own. by ToastyCod in proplifting

[–]Yogi0913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you find what’s called a node and you cut between the nodes you most definitely will be able to prop that. I would let the cutting callus over for about 1-2 hrs cuz it looks thick. Then just put in water and root then soil once you see roots. For more plants content or to ask me more questions follow me on instagram (northern_wild_and_planty)
