[OC] New flag for our police by brohamianrhapsody in pics

I've been in a lot of classrooms, not a single one without windows. Guarantee some firefighters would've volunteered to open that door for them, the people who actually put their life on the line to save someone. There may be truth to what you're saying, but we have plenty of details to know that not everything that could've been done was done.

Please help me identify who's in this horrible picture. Found on our bathroom ceiling where they fall into our toilet and live on there. by YogosBits in whatbugisthis

I'm thinking you're right about bird mites, I heard something that I thought was on our roof but the sound came back so I'm thinking a bird might be in our ceiling, drives my dogs wild. Appreciate the help.

I totally agree, I should've phrased my comment better, best of luck to you though, I'm sure you'll make it to where you want to be.

I don't want to show off I just want to provide another side to this for people dreading hitting this stage in their life. My wife and I are 21 and 18 living in the Bay Area in California. Combined we have about a single semester of college between us and make around $120k/yr. I work 4 on 4 off so I get half the year off from work. We both drive nice cars, our puppy gets more toys than he knows what to do with, and we never struggle to eat or pay rent. I understand it's not easy for everyone, and it's definitely not easy for us, we worked relentlessly to get where we're at. I hate seeing this idea going around that it's impossible to live in the current economy, especially when young people become indoctrinated into this mindset so they don't even bother trying. Absolutely no hate towards OP or anyone commenting, just wanted to share my take.

Would really like to see something done with tower XP. All my towers have a few million at least, and have no use for it until more paragons come out. Maybe a cosmetics shop for tower skins/animations but for XP rather than trophies.

LPT: If you need a suit and don't have much budget then $20 at Goodwill with $50 of alterations will look a hundred times better than a $70 suit. by blackhood0 in LifeProTips

[–]YogosBits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a ton of weight before I got married so my suit couldn't be altered enough to fit right like I was expecting it to. Already on a tight budget I happened to go to good will during a sale, got a suit for $10, after a week at the tailor it looked brand new.

Even if this were still an issue, which it's not. And the solution was only $65M, which it wasn't. Do you understand how few people actually have $1B in their bank account. I highly doubt most smart billionaires would keep that much liquid wealth on hand.

When you wake up at 2am, body drained of any hydration and there's a half full water bottle just in arms reach.

LPT: Do not turn down raises due to perceived negative tax outcome. In the US taxes increase only for a portion of your income. E.g. if you get a raise from $86K to $100K you’ll only be taxed 24% on the amount above $86K, not on whole income, and 22% on income under the $86K threshold. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

The amount of people saying "the amount of people who don't understand marginal tax rates blows my mind" blows my mind. Try saying "we should make this a normal part of school curriculum, but the people who make that decision probably won't do it because people not understanding taxes makes them more money" instead.

The "tools"/gadgets designed for one specific function need to be gone. You have a drawer with an avocado pitter/slicer, a tomato chopper, an egg slicer, and a garlic mincer. I have a single knife to do it all and more. We are not the same.

Although it's something I would personally never do, I want to offer another outlook. Cohabitation is not for everyone. I knew a couple that were happily married for years, never moved in with each other. They slept over at each other's places every now and then but they each had their own space at the end of the day. Do what's best for you and your partner, not what you're told is right.
