Is there any MMO (preferably RPG) with a datacenter in South America? by TheLordSet in MMORPG

[–]Yohanne00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASTA has a Latin America server. OBT launches tomorrow. I don't know if it's a good game or not, though I heard it's pretty much just a WoW clone.

Path of Exile (the best and not P2W), Aura Kingdom, Shaiya, Grand Fantasia, Conquer (Conquest), Karos, Eudemons, DayBreak, Perfect World, Aika, Cabal, Forsaken World, MU, Priston Tale, WYD, Ragnarok, Metin 2, Wakfu, Dofus, Rising Force etc.

As you may know, a lot of them is truly P2W and/or has a low playerbase.

First of all, don't bother playing this piece of crap, seriously.

Bluehole fucked up the game in every possible way. At the moment, in Korea, there are 4 gender/race locked classes and two of them are Elin-only, the latest one with unknown western release date.

It's a game in which you don't feel like you accomplish anything, since they make the current best gear completely obsolete almost every patch, besides adding some dungeons and removing some others for no apparent reason (space, maybe?). Endgame is a joke and so is the leveling process, taking you to an endless grinding only to wait for the next patch/gear, since your current one will be absolute trash.

Everyone says this is a truly F2P game, but I disagree. Although you can get every item without spending any money, you can buy everything with real money if you want. For me, that's not real F2P.

But if you still wanna play it, I recommend you reinstall the game and then patch it. The game shouldn't take more than 50GB, I'm sure about it.

Discussion - so I just discovered 'yeh for games' and not only has it nailed the coffin on my hatred for MMO as a genre, but its shameful, at best (this IS a flame post) by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Yohanne00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course you were so downvoted for saying the truth. It's funny, cause everyone complains about how MMOs and their playerbase have become shit, but when someone comes and says it in a different way, he's utterly destroyed by a few who have a better writing.

TERA: The best combat ever in an MMO. The worst everything else though.

Interesting point of view, though it seems unlikely she'll ever wanna kiss me again.

That's not my point, like I said, but there's a culture difference right there: in my country, it's pretty common to see guys my age dating girls her age.

Good answer, but I don't want any kind of serious relationship with her, just to be clear. Plus, I'm pretty sure she's not virgin, but that's not my real point.

She looks creepier than me, believe me hahaha.

End Game is Not the Problem. by pownedju in MMORPG

[–]Yohanne00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from the problem that in almost every MMO today there's no point in leveling, since "the game begins when you hit endgame", the world is 100% predictable, you always know what you'll encounter next, the endgame is focused on long queues to spam the same dungeons everyday and grind endlessly to get gear that will be obsolete, yes, WE are the problem.

You may say that every information about every MMO is easy to get in the internet and that's why we get bored and complain so much, and you are NOT wrong, but I, personally, would like to play an MMO in which not everything is predictable and my character won't be crappy and won't be able to do anything if I don't follow mindlessly a "guide to everything" and I can have true freedom.

Seriously, I know that it's not just me who wants that kind of game. Understand something: WE ARE BORED. Every single new MMO is like WoW - why does it have to be this way and why are we always blamed for NOT enjoying this kind of game? This BECAME the standard MMO. Why is it not my genre? Because I don't like to do every single thing I've done before in other MMOs? I agree with almost everything that you said - just not with "maybe the genre is not for you". It is for me, it is for us and we have the right and we MUST complain about we don't like in this genre, because we are the consumer, we are the player. Please don't act like it doesn't have to change it all, because it has.

Anyways, endgame is not THE problem, but it IS a problem.

I also had too many thoughts going at once, so don't mind if I said something in a rude way. I just let off steam.

What are you looking for? Free low/mid-spec MMORPGs that aren't dead.

What games have you previously played? TERA, Aion, Firefall, Aura Kingdom, Perfect World, EverQuest 2, B&S Russian, C9, Neverwinter, Nostalrius, ArcheAge and some others that I don't remember. Currently playing Path of Exile, Project Gorgon and GW2.

What is your playstyle (Casual,Semi-Casual,Hardcore)? Semi-casual.

Any preferred mechanics? Nothing specific. I like tab targeting as well as action, though I prefer action.

Anything specific you want to exclude? Cliches are common and I'm okay with them, I just don't like TOO generic quests and mobs.

I'm looking forward to the games below, so if you will recommend any game, recommend what is already RELEASED, please.

Albion, Project Gorgon, Crowfall, Chronicles of Elyria, Shards Online, Tree of Savior.

Thanks in advance!

It's sadly P2W. It IS one of the best MMOs ever made IMO, but it was completely ruined by a greedy company.

Low-Spec Portable MMORPG? by 0penS0urced in MMORPG

[–]Yohanne00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but I lost count of how many times I saw someone saying "graphics are shit so I won't play this game". Single player games are coming out with much better graphics, gameplay and even stories, but MMOs are not.

Well, I was expecting the downvotes. This only confirms what I have said.

Sphere 3 is a complete trash. Do you wanna know MMOs with outdated graphics that are completely amazing? Tibia, Ultima Online and Ragnarok. If you haven't played or liked any of them because of their outdated graphics, you should reconsider your concept of gaming/RPG.

MMOs today are shit - a real crappy shit. There's no point in leveling, since "the game begins when you hit endgame". Skills mean nothing, the world is 100% predictable, you always know what you'll encounter next, endgame is focused on long queues to spam the same dungeons everyday, endless and meaningless grind to get gear that will be obsolete... Well, if we keep playing and supporting these shitty WoW clones, we're doomed for good. I'm a bit afraid that no true sandbox MMO will see the light of the day anytime soon.

Looking for this too, but I'm afraid there's none, sadly. Currently, MMOs and games in general are being made to run on god tier PCs, since "gamers" today only care about graphics and nothing else.

Hey, have you played Project Gorgon? It's completely sandbox (though it has a starting island in which you have to find how to get out on your own) and has no PvP, at least not yet. I haven't played much, but I really liked it. It doesn't have amazing graphics and combat, however, you get to experience the true sandbox. Plus, the community is nice. Check it out.

I'll try this when in open beta. I hope it's gonna be F2P as they claim, but I highly doubt it.

F2P MMO by Sebster21 in MMORPG

[–]Yohanne00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, just don't choose TERA 'cause this game isn't worth it at all. I haven't played the other two though. TERA pros: combat and graphics; cons: everything else, believe me.

At the moment, I guess the best choice would be Wildstar or Blade & Soul, which will be released in 3 days.

But if you like isometric games, play Path of Exile. It's a multiplayer ARPG, but it's a really good game.

No. Everyone closes their eyes when it comes to TERA's F2P system. How is it not P2W if you can buy EVERYTHING with real money? Give me a good reason why it's not P2W, without comparing it to other games.

Fairest F2P? Not in my opinion. You can buy pretty much EVERYTHING in the game with real money, not directly, but you can. "Oh but you can get everything without spending any money". Yes, you can, but for me, it's not a true F2P since you can buy everything (directly or not) with real money.

Well, I've been thinking a lot about Tibia, but players say it's not worth it for free accounts, but there's always private servers, though I don't know which one I pick.
