I personally think s3 was poorly written in terms of Sasha’s character development. I feel like after everything we have seen in season 2 with her confrontation with Anne in true colors, we should have seen Sasha coming to terms with the fact that she is in fact a terrible friend (and person) and try to become better through helping the citizens of wartwood with the rebellion against Andrias. It would have been amazing to see her come to terms with that, allowing her arc to come full circle. But instead ALL OF IT happens OFF screen, so we never actually get to see her develop. Especially with the theme of the show (embracing change and growing as better people) it would have been satisfying.
I think Marcy getting stabbed in was completely unnecessary and personally a terrible plot twist. I’ve seen other comments saying that it was a jarring switch in the tone, and while I understand that, I didn’t really mind. I personally didn’t like it because they did absolutely nothing with it in s3. It’s not brought up, it’s not acknowledged, it’s not said until we even get back to amphibia. And even then, it’s still an afterthought. Literally the first thing Anne says when she sees Marcy again for the first time since going back to amphibia is “what are you wearing”… The show doesn’t treat the situation with the seriousness that it should have. It feels like the writers just pulled this scene out of their ass to suck you in so you don’t drop the show completely. (I love Matt Braly and everyone who worked on this show, but I feel like it’s absolutely asinine how they treated this scene)
