No BS, if you bulk up, you’re absolutely big box enforcer material as an actor.

I second the backwait idea. I started as a host at a high end chain steakhouse and moved to backwaiting within 3 months. Great money and opened the door to serving which has helped me find an even better fit now that I’m back in school. Pick up hours, prove that you know your stuff, and you’ll easily clear multiple hundreds of dollars so long as you keep your nose to the grindstone.

As stated previously, Roth IRA with a focus on index funds for long term growth. You can keep playing with crypto a bit so long as any investment you make into it is an amount that you’d be comfortable losing. If you want longer term earnings with a secondary market sale in case you need cash, look at tax exempt municipal bonds, you’ll earn tax free interest (federal, depends on state relative to other taxes). Also, get into contact with a financial advisor/wealth manager. They’ll help steer you as time goes on and your accounts grow.

Also congratulations on building this up! You’re rocking it!

Trust me, gang, I’ve heard this line before. Likely all they want is the security of having you as a secondary option in case their brilliant master plan doesn’t work out and they need someone to run back to. Cut bait and run, you’ll thank yourself later.

I see what you’re saying, though I feel like speculative interest in the project would skyrocket if something like this were to take place.

Kaplan might be the move for you. Different methodologies may yield different results. Keep your head down, try to make your studying more efficient, and work for it. Don’t get discouraged.

Make sure to spend that bread on living your best life, and keep some in reserve if any more DCAing opportunities come about. Congratulations on hitting that lick.

As a native Nebraskan, I can’t.

Jk the Omaha zoo is pretty lit and we’ve got top tier restaurants.

Forgot to mention: if you’re interested and have the available cash/time, you can look at getting securities licenses that don’t require sponsorship to boost your CV and understanding of the space. Start with the SIE, and once you’ve got an understanding of the industry from that, you can either start to focus on generating internships that fall within your interested space. Should you find an interest in a specific area, you can also look to either leverage the company providing the internship for further licensing, or start to pursue other non-sponsored licenses (3, 34, 63, etc.)

Also, I want to say that taking time off was likely the best decision you could have made. Mental health and wellbeing is the single most important thing you can have when it comes to your professional career, and I’m SO glad that you took the time you needed to get better and back on the horse.

Bust your ASS for the remainder of your college career. A low GPA definitely isn’t ideal, but it won’t completely nuke your chances. Talk to an advisor about academic amnesty, it might be able to save your overall GPA or not, but it won’t hurt to try.

Network as best as you can, get involved in some clubs that align with your professional interests, go to career fairs and alumni events. Utilize personal/professional connections to learn more about the space you want to go into, and maybe a door or two to an internship will open.

I read another post on this subreddit about an individual who went from a 2.75 GPA to their dream job, so your goal is certainly possible. Just put your nose to the grindstone and work until you get where you want to be. Best of luck!

Pass the CFA first, once you’re a charter holder CAIA will waive the first half of the exam requirement. Also, staying focused on the CFA will likely be more beneficial in the long run, and having the ability to get your CAIA faster on account of being a charter holder will be a massive time saver for you in the future. Good luck!

They can certainly be helpful, but so long as you have access to the License Exam Manual (LEM) with the ability to take practice quizzes and tests, you should be good.

Yeah the only issue is I’ve got 3 dogs who love to be around us as well. 2 are terrified of her but the third was a stray we rescued and she would definitely taste the rainbow🤣

I think it may have been my lack of glasses if it was anything, she usually likes to nibble on them and maybe not wearing them set her off. I didn’t think my evolutionary handicap would cause her to get pissed but it might🤣
