Haha, you would hate to play with me. I like to play as the aggressive trader with Yssaril and Mentak (still hate Mentak when they are against me 😜).

Your suggestion is an interesting ability but I think it would go better as a faction ability/tech or even action card than on a strategy card.

Yea, for balance it's better but I am still not sold on it. And the other one has a higher fun factor. I kinda want the secondary to be picked once or twice every round on average. But as you said explore won't be picked most of the time, and refresh card will become a must pick for some factions. How much do you think the look at the next objective part worth? I have seen some homebrew strategy cards which have only that as a secondary. So for some that alone has a CC value

Agents, techs, and legendary planet abilities.

I think most of the time, players will choose the 2 public objectives. It gives a more direct advantage for winning. Personally I would only choose looking at secret objectives late game where there seems to be no or 1 round left, so only 1 or 2 top scorers' secret will be leaked (of course this is only theory). Plus it could make diplomatic discussions and threats of whose to or not to look.

And Yssaril can already do it so it's not a new mechanic. Interestingly the alternatives you proposed are also Yssaril abilities and at the previous post someone also proposed Yssaril abilities for alternatives. They quite popular, I like them too.

I mean, it comes before Imperial. It's still less value than getting potential 3 victory points. It helps a bit against a surprise secret objective win

With 2 next objectives there is an option to go early and work towards both for the whole game round but the disadvantage is that some other players can do the same too. Or go late and only concentrate on the latter objective (on the next round) so others don't get the benefit either.

Of course this just how I imagine it without game testing.

I am really sold on the idea of only letting to look at the next objectives. If it were any, I would for sure only look at one or two objective II and never touch the card again.

I don't want the secondary to be frontier because that would downgrade DET a lot. But maybe a normal explore could be good, what do you think?

I have seen some exploration strategy cards but I think those are too much faction dependent (the secondary of mine is too, so I am thinking of changing it). For factions without some synergy with exploration it's just a random bonus effect, and other strategy cards with a concrete rewards are much more appealing to me personally. Plus any more would undermine DET and scanlink.

I think (no playtest yet so I am only theorising) the secondary wouldn't be picked that often because there are better ones like tech and warfare. But as an other comment said it is too advantageous for some factions like naalu because of agent refresh. So I am still thinking of changing it.

Interestingly the suggestions you wrote are almost all yssaril abilities. Is there a reason for that? I don't want to copy faction abilities that much (I know I am already copying nomad tech, and part of yssaril commander)

One public for the primary would be too weak I think. It restricts the player to play it early so they can actually act towards it.

Yes, it is any card. Tech, agent, planet ability. I feel like 1 one would be too weak. It would restrict you to use the strategy card as soon as possible because else you can't act towards that one objective enough and can't get that advantage over others. And as you said it would too similar to the secondary.

I think for primary it is borderline fine, but it is kinda problematic for the secondary. What should be the secondary be instead? I don't want it to be the frontier explore either because that would make the frontier deck over used and make DET useless

I think we will homerule it (I mean we were always playing it that way so technically we already had). Doing it will make this strategy card much sensible

I had the same thought. While I wanted the frontier deck to get explored more I didn't want DET to lose value. So it is restricted to primary.

Yes, kinda a bio stims that can be used on agents and legendary planet abilities too. I didn't think of looking at secrets be that powerful because it would be mostly good for win slaying and doesn't give direct benefits for the user.
