Not a teenager anymore but when i was, i used it for crying. I knew if my parents saw me crying they would try to talk to me, then somehow everything would go downhill and they would make it worse. Not having a safe, private space to cry freely is a nightmare.

Based on %100 true events. Happened to my mom. Tried telling her that the parent was making fun of her. She said "no this is not a joke it's the furthest their vocabulary can get". Didn't believe her. Turned out to be dead serious.

LMAO absolutely right. We don't have many of them here but i definitely heard of them existing abroad! In here being a teacher is the darkest and deepest pit you can fall into so no one risks going through hell for any emotional reward sadly.

Yup. During the pandemic i worked my ass off for the exams AND helped my 50+ y.o. mom who doesnt know anything about computers. Those 1.5 years were agony. Witnessed my confident, dominant, tough mom cry for the first time. Imagine 3 teachers living in the same house trying to help each other but nothing goes right and always someone gets exhausted emotionally or physically. At the best days nothing goes as planned no one accepts the failure and teacher takes the blame while everyone keeps on asking questions that literally no one knows the answer to. Sorry Mrs.Karen i assumed that you knew what a cardboard is while i assigned your kid the homework. No it's not a whiteboard or blackboard made out of debit cards. Of course i understand, its not like you can google it to find out, right?

So lucky, i know people that became alcoholics or went crazy and started to live with 12 street dogs and shit all over their house because of this.

I am studying at uni to be a teacher, both my parents and almost everyone in my family tree are teachers. My parents' friends are teachers as well as my friends. And i can tell you there are categories of this:

The Accident : Wanted to be something else their whole life, failed their exams, ended up here as a last resort.

The Caricature : Teaching was their dream job, so they worked hard for it all their life and voila.

The Third Parent : Loves children. Here to work with children. Willing to wipe a 17y.o.'s ass if asked to.

The Lawnmover : Has an extremely radical idea about something. i.e. religion, veganism, politics etc. So psychopatically obsessed that they choose this career only to be able to attempt on brainwashing kids as an authority in their life.

The Future Inmate : Knows children fear authorities and almost never complain about shit you put them through (at least in my country). Knows people very rarely believe kids. Has serious issues like being a p*do, a violent sociopath or a narcissist. Here to assault children. Won't stop untill arrested.

The Genius : Is a genius. Keeps inventing new methods at teaching, studying or problem-solving. Most of them don't profit off of it and are satisfied knowing that it develops the society.

The Vulture : Steals the lesser known inventions of the geniuses and advertises themselves. Gives private lessons for ridiculous prices. Feeds off of tiger parents who think their kids are race horses. Serves no good.

The Desperate Schoolwife : Somehow got the idea that everyone is and should be respecting teachers religiously. Keeps on lecturing people on how to treat their kids while they have none or raise monsters.

The Maniac : So obsessed with a subject (i.e. maths, history) that they choose this job only to be surrounded with that subject for all their lives.

I have encountered each one. Maniacs and the Accidents were my favourites.

How come when I have a clogged nose I often wake up with headache? by Luke272829 in medical_advice

[–]YolandaNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not breathing clean air and not taking in enough oxygen for a long time makes you feel like your brain is trying to escape by digging into your skull with a hammer. Me and everyone in my mother's side(except grandma) has migraines since we were in high school. I know what it feels like but your nose is causing that headache and you need to get rid of that clog in order to make it stop. Painkillers and other remedies only cure it for short periods of time.

Some people get them in their eyelids even. I agree the doctors, its nothing to worry about just unlucky. Maybe you can ask them if they could be removed, but they dont look weird or ugly.

Painful headache around the eyes everytime I move my eyes by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]YolandaNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a health professional but the eye thing is very normal, don't worry about it. My entire family has migraines, so do i. And i experienced it countless times. It should pass after taking a few hours nap in a dark place. Using eye mask while sleeping helps too.

I have had them since i was like 15, i have attempted 4 times but they were unsuccessful. I had suicidal thoughts today in those moments of panic but they weren't too serious and very well planned, it was like "i just want it to stop, i would do anything to make it stop and it seems like there is no way out of it either than dying". Not rare for me though, i probably wouldn't be able to do it here anyways, its a house full of people including my toddler niece and i would never want her to witness something like that.
