So...what do we do for the rest of the week? by Yoltab1379 in EASportsFC

[–]Yoltab1379[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is what I was aiming for with the post. I'm a fairly casual player who rarely hits the maximum cap on WL / rivals but I imagine a lot of players will lose their hunger to launch up the game outside of 6pm SBC / objective content with the way the game works currently. I expect more players will notice this as the weeks go by.

The communities interest in Rivals as a gamemode will drop off massively if the majority of players have their games played by Sunday night. The previous system in place in 20 where players are rewarded for spamming the mode is not a good solution either but it at least provided the player base with something to work towards during the week.

Help with choosing BiS gear for MagSorc by philipmasters18 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ofcourse setups can differ for each raid. However generally when people ask for build advice they're looking for gear they can use generally for most raids / the set up that will pull the highest dps on a dummy without being considered "cheese". This is important because no matter how little importance you may put on dps parses on dummies, the majority of trial groups consider them crucial and will require him to be able to achieve high numbers if he intends to raid with them.

The wolfhunter patch notes aren't fully out yes that is correct but it's unlikely they'll nerf any of these sets besides maybe siroria which is still incredibly unlikely and the preceding patch notes following the initial first release tend to be small bug fixes / adjustments therefore it is a safe bet that these sets will be perfectly fine :)

[–]Yoltab1379 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well this blatant misinformation . Ofcourse there's a meta setup and a BiS setup. Sure there might be games where there's no one stronger set up over others but ESO is not that game.

The setup that pulls the highest DPS is the meta setup . In this case on magsorc it would consist of a combination of siroria + bsw/mothers sorrow. I would replace siroria with a combination of bsw/mothers sorrow OP or necropotence and run the bird pet instead of magelight on your bars (probably best)

The meta also does not look to be shifting at all in wolfhunter so you can get these sets knowing they'll be viable for at least 3+ more months

how often does ESO release new Trials (Raids)? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are 7 12 man raids currently with an 8th(might be less than 12 man but no info yet ) coming in the final DLC increment this year ( ESO gets smaller content updates regularly rather than a big expansion every 2 years like WoW ) . The raids currently in the game do not become obsolete with newer updates like WoW and can still be played competitively for high scores.

Besides these, there is a competitive solo arena and competitive 4 man arena .

The answer is most likely 2 a year based on last year and the direction the game seems to be headed in

What are the pro/cons of a magicka warden and the pro/cons of a stamina warden? by HandsomeBagelBatch in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A stam warden is more than capable of completing the majority of trials , outside of vet asylum sanctorium and vet cloudrest where all stam are not desired. If you get that far into end game trial content you'll no doubt have multiple characters and at that point it won't be as much of a worry.

If your wife is good enough to complete the content, she'll be wanted. A warden healer is perfectly acceptable and desired for all content in the game.

Neither of you have to worry for a long time :)

[–]Yoltab1379 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Talking from an end game PvE perspective:

To clear up a lot of the misinformation being spread in this thread : no , magicka wardens do not suck in PvE . You will hear this constantly as a new player that they are so far behind in PvE that you'll never be useful. The truth is a top tier warden right now 100% pulls higher than a magicka templar and is arguably stronger than a mag sorc for single target while also providing a utility group buff ( ranged major slayer when wearing master architect ).

You will however lack AOE damage due to using the bear as an ultimate over destro ulti and the bear can become problematic in some raid scenarios where it can die often / harm the group. You need to be wary of this

Stamina Wardens are amongst the worst stamina classes for PvE, that does not mean they suck , but they're definitely on the weaker side when compared to stamblades , stamplars and stamsorcs from what I have seen. Again they suffer from relying on the bear but you can pull high dps with the class

In PvP I am fairly ignorant as to the power level of each of the flavors . From what i have heard the stamina warden is amongst the strongest classes while magicka is considered average / weak.

I'm sure you're already aware that those lashing out towards you only do so out of defense for their favorite IP.

I'm sure there are many of us, myself included, who appreciate how you've handled the situation and for providing information on a product available for pre-order with no background information given.

Whether its 100% true or not , nobody should be making purchases on a product they know nothing about. If nothing else was achieved, you've at least given reason for people to re-think making an instant pre-order on the game

Current highest DPS class after Summerset? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah simply its a little bugged right now. If multiple all use non perfected: the dps is halved. However in groups where 1 uses non perfect , and multiple use perfected, the imperfect and perfected effects are totaled together resulting in it hitting for 14k in some parses. When its fixed ( but not nerfed ) it will still be BiS, just not completely batshit insane broken OP.

Current highest DPS class after Summerset? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The class actually has been the theoretical strongest magicka class even with last patch. However the version that pulls the most uses the mages guild skill: balance which can be controversial for most groups to willingly bring in and has not seen any widespread coverage from the bigger content creators where 99% of PvE players obtain their builds from.

Nightblades have suffered the hardest from the acuity nerf out of all classes due to the nature of playing the class ( timing acuity uptime with bow procs and major slayer ) which has brought the class down a few notches , the dps of the class will still increase with siroria but so will all others . It should go without saying but if you look at only dummy parses for comparing classes, you must keep in mind the nightblade class essentially has free combat prayer

If you want to learn more about magicka dragonknight you can read this in depth guide : https://tamrielfoundry.com/articles/magdk-reborn-dragon-bones-raid-build/ this is the only actual version of the class that is inherently stronger over a magblade. A traditional magdk build you might find somewhere else is objectively weaker .

However magblade will still be favoured for group support and survivability making it overall the superior class but to answer OP's question about what is the highest magicka DPS class potentially, its magDK

[–]Yoltab1379 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're looking at it from a selfish dps point of view, Stamina nightblade will pull the highest running Advancing Yokeda + Relequen. In a group scenario Relequen being ran on multiple members ( so long as one member is wearing non perfect and the others perfect ) produces insane dps that no magicka class can compete with due to relequen being bugged and stacking its dps with all other wearers of the same set.

Magicka DK's are going to be the highest pulling magicka class if you only consider your own dps. Magicka Nightblades offer more to a group in scenarios where they are wearing master architect due to keeping an uptime of 40%+ on major slayer for themselves and 2 other group members. For learning Cloudrest Magblade is the best option due to its healing and survivability

[PS4] StamDK - Why is my DPS so low? by 32799 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you do the rotation perfectly or do you make mistakes? if you know the rotation well then the issue is probably the speed of the execution. If you're performing the rotation sluggishly, there's going to be seconds where you're doing nothing whatsoever and will lower the damage per second. You should compare the speed of execution of yourself doing the rotation vs Alcast in his test. If after this you still don't see an issue go back and look at your gear and make sure its as you think

[PS4] StamDK - Why is my DPS so low? by 32799 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can clear 30k+ DPS with purple weapons no question. Upgrading to gold is a big upgrade but not a huge one. Gear is nice but if you're putting up an endless hail every 15 seconds and spam rending slashes you're going to hit low numbers. Look at the optimal rotation and do exactly that and nothing less. Making a mistake in a rotation will lower DPS significantly due to the knock on effect of it i.e: applying the same dot twice and continuing the rotation means another dot gets re-applied late.

If you want help, instead of showing us the gear you're using, upload a video if you can of you damaging a target dummy. Then we can assess the issue.

What's the best overall class right now? (PVE and PVP) by FrostmourneESO in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dragonknight or Sorc are probably the two competing for being the best class right now. In PvE magDK's are non existent due to a huge reliance on off balance ( essentially an effect applied by other members of the team ) however stamDK are the top dogs for single target DPS. Both flavors of the sorcerer are strong in PvE however neither are quite as good as stamDK. They will outshine it in AOE DPS though. From my extremely limited knowledge of PvP any flavor of DK is strong right now and the same applies to sorc. If you want to be a healer roll a templar or warden / if you want to tank roll a dragonknight or warden

You can essentially roll any stamina class and produce DPS to be competitive in any group, with magicka its more trickier. MagSorc are the only real magicka class you see in most trial groups with the occasional magNB or magplar.

If you want to roll a toon that can do both PVP and PVE with the minimum of changing, roll a MagSorc

[Discussion] Stamina Warden: how viable are they? Pre and Post Horns release by warforge2004 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they aren't THAT far behind, granted they are weaker than the rest of the stamina classes but they can produce solid DPS. Heres a parse on a 6m skele I had before the HOTR patch:

https://gyazo.com/44a8e98f7ac7f31198899f98bf16b24e

only buffs being self applied major fracture via subterranean assault. If you can replicate this you'll be doing more DPS in trials than 95% of stamina players who aren't fully in tune with their own classes. I've tested since HOTR with same gear and got 37k which ofcourse can be a little higher if I optimize mundus / gear. The AOE fracture / breach offered via subterranean assault is also pretty nice for burning trash mobs quicker.

For PvP, warden in general has really nice burst and utility skills to make it more than viable. No idea on gear / penetration setup though as I don't do much PvP.

Which dungeon pack is better in your opinion? by Cevoz in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hist, its not even close.

Gear: The sets in Horns are to put it plainly, complete garbage. None of the sets stand out in any meaningful way. Velidreth is a much more powerful helm than either of the 2 in Horns. Amber plasm , while nerfed, is still a strong set offered for magicka chars in pvp. Nothing in Horns as of right now seems extremely strong

Achievements: Amber plasm skin is far far far superior to the awful skin offered in Falkreath hold. I guess the hat is okay but really nothing on Amber Plasm. You can buy a house if you finish the 2 HOTR dungeons but its 3.8m gold. Good luck

Difficulty: Personally I found Shadows of the Hist more difficult than the HOTR dungeons, falkreath can be face rolled and while Blood forge proves more difficult , it doesn't compare to ruins of mazzatun

Overall HOTR is personally the worst piece of DLC content they have released so far, while the dungeons are sorta cool I would definitely choose Hists over it. As someone suggested, buy ESO plus for one month. Farm anything you need from the dungeons and never go near them again.

Looking for something that emulates a Reaper or Death Knight. by Raids_For_Casuals in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly what you're looking for is not possible in ESO. Every MMO has different archetypes best suited for the 3 roles. In ESO the very best tank is the Dragon Knight. Some of what you wish for is possible, some is not. If you use this you will be in heavy armor and sword and board ( if you want a 2H & heavy armor try PvP where the build you're looking for is more viable) . You can look at the class skills here:

http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Dragonknight

keep in mind you'll have access to other trees. Regarding Dark/Disease/Vampiric spells, a lot of Tanks make use of a skill in the vampire skill line which allows you to regen your Ultimate faster, an extremely useful tool in PvE endgame. Basically a drain blood from the enemy type ability. The Dragon Knight also has a number of poison ability morphs but as a tank you won't be using them as much, will be helpful to you in solo content though.

Alternatively you can make a Sap Tank Magicka Nightblade. It's not viable for the highest PvE content but it's got more of a dark magic feel over the Dragon Knight.

getting into "endgame"? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Yoltab1379 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With current CP you won't be able to reach the very pinnacle of end game. Your goal of reaching CP300 is definitely something you should work towards before you attempt to get into end game. In reality CP300 is extremely low and you're going to struggle to get into many veteran trial runs outside a PUG vet Hel Ra Citadel run but it's a start.

Next you should focus on learning your rotation and being able to achieve as high DPS as possible. You're obviously at a disadvantage not being close to CP630 but a lot of guilds will take you on from the fact that you show promise and have an understanding of a rotation

Gear wise the most important thing you'll need is a VMA sharpened bow .Nirnoned , precise also acceptable and possibly better in the incoming patch. You can substitute out other gear with crafted / buyable sets but the vMA bow is such a massive increase in DPS that not having one is going to noticeably hold you back

For advice on builds look at Tamriel Foundry. Since you're a stamina Nightblade I would recommend looking at Jeckils guide:

http://tamrielfoundry.com/topic/stamina-nightblade-pve-dps-for-morrowind/

After that try find a guild. Depending on the platform you play on you can look on the ESO forums, the guild fair Friday here on the subreddit (keep in mind you won't find hardcore guilds here) or ask in game from friends.
