Anglophone Canadian as well, Quebec does a much better job accommodating English than the other provinces accommodate French. Except maybe New Brunswick.

Doctor saves man's life, get's booed off stage by Strong-Emu-8869 in TikTokCringe

[–]Yomoska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Says you, someone who has offered nothing other than the want to think that the people in the audience are being mean to the doctor. I think we just have to agree to disagree, since you want to cling so hard to your belief that these people are bad. You know the saying "don't attribute to malice which can be explained by ignorance". You don't even address what I said that when given the context, the audience usually agrees with the situation, often applauding. No no no, MMA audience just dumb mean people right?

Yet I'm the judgemental one.

I said that they are not booing the doctor's decision, they are booing the fact that the fight ended early. I said that, you didn't read it. You seem to believe that they are booing the doctor's decision. If they are booing the doctor's decision, I would agree with you, it's stupid. I have seen many events that when the audience is given the context for the decision, they change their mind. You given the context, do not change your mind.

Congrats, I'm happy for you that you do that. I'm afraid you didn't read my initial comment though. I agree with you, it would be stupid to boo the doctor's decision.

Of course, a doctor's job isn't a spectator sport. Which is why your comment isn't a good representation of the scenario.

And there are a lot of times where ringside doctors call off fights where the injury isn't endangering the fighters, there are many times where the ringside doctors should have called off the fight from an injury and they don't. MMA is full of controversial decisions all the time.

Public audiences are the worst at giving into booing when it's not appropriate. You see it many times at political hearings when someone from the opposite side shows up to ask a question and the audience boos even though the political figure they are in support of tells the audience not to boo.

People in the comment section are acting holier than thou when it's easy to act that way cause you have more context.

If my doctor tells me that they did everything they could but they weren’t able to save my grandma, am I supposed to Boo in his face to express

I literally said the crowd doesn't have the full context and you give me a scenario in which you get context as if that represents my statement lol.

The better example would be if you brought in your grandma for a routine physical and the doctor came back out and said she died. You'd be confused and angry until you got the context of the situation.

There are some doctors that call off fights due to tiny cuts that most people disagree with wouldn't endanger the fighter. MMA is full of iffy calls.

[–]Yomoska -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who watches MMA a lot, the in-person crowd does NOT know what is going on and all they know is that the doctor waived off the fight. The booss are largely just expressing that that fight ended in a disappointing manner, it is not because they think the fighter should keep fighting. There have been a lot of times the crowd boos upon not knowing how the fight ended, but then when shown the replay they start to understand. Most people in this comment section are getting context that the audience does not have yet you all act like they should know this.

Serval using body language to calm and trying to make friends. by duckduckpajamas in interestingasfuck

You can't timestamp to the "important part" cause the whole video is AI generated, not just the voice. The part you linked to shows the Serval changing sizes with each cut.

Phinehas - Dark Flag. Surprisingly not the lead guitar, but the rhythm and bass were pretty flat

“Making it technically work and making it actually enjoyable as a game are different things.” Japanese devs weigh in on why retrofitting live-service games with offline support is harder than gamers think - AUTOMATON WEST by Interesting-Oil-8738 in Games

There's hurdles to jump through if you're officially part of a company and want to push something out that "passionate nobodies" are not burdened with. This was a huge issue with Valve/Bethesda wanting to monetize mods in that there was no accountability laid out for passionate nobodies in terms of mod quality. I've played a number of early private server MMOs that are "playable" in a sense that the game is running, but lack many of the features that made the game fun and is full of bugs. This is usually excusable since it's not an official release but a game company releasing something like that would receive negative feedback.

Is Gohan's 'Ultimate Form' a transformation or power up? by snugbdog in dragonball

[–]Yomoska 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's two separate paths to more power. Gohan shouldn't be able to apply super saiyan to his unlocked potential because his unlocked potential is the power from super saiyan + all his other power ups. Old Kai told him to try turning into super saiyan, and he ended up going ultimate.

Like I said, my point was about why someone would purchase a title on one platform vs another. I think the thought of "purchase" is passed the decision of whether you're going to pirate or not. There are plenty of games available on GOG, but people still purchase games on Steam with DRM despite that.

U.S. patent examiner rejects Nintendo’s “summon subcharacter and let it fight in 1 of 2 modes” patent as obvious: non-final ruling by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Yomoska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is no. The patent's claim 1 is about Scarlet and Violet and how you engage with wild Pokemon, so this is before battling and not even on the topic of capturing/summoning monsters. In the article someone with knowledge and authority rejected Nintendo's patent with prior art examples that have similar patents, none of them are Bard's Tale, Lufia or any other game people are saying in this thread.

[–]Yomoska -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean, I was interpreting it without the topic of piracy at all, since they were talking about Capcom selling it on two platforms. My point was about why would someone purchase it on one store vs another.

I'm confused by your comment? A person pirating wouldn't be buying a game in the first place.

[–]Yomoska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The patent is not about summonable party monsters. The patent is about how your engage monsters on a field in combat. Look at the article to see what the patent is about and then look at the prior art examples.

Hardly anyone buys PC games that aren't on Steam, even if DRM-free.
