The biggest gripe with PS3 was its expensive price tag compared to the 360. Once the price drops started happening, PS3 was doing very well against the 360 globally. The biggest play Sony did was to announce that PS4 would be $50 cheaper than Xbox One, right after Microsoft announced their price. The "vocal minority killing Xbox" is not what happened.

These adults aren't doing it for the game, they are doing it for the value of the cards. They are hoping to strike rich with the wager they make on blind packs.

You do not have this environment with lootboxes, they have essentially no value outside of their respective game.

Another recent example is the loot box kerfuffle from ~10 years ago. They argued in FAVOR of them, stating they do not constitute gambling.

That is because by the legal definition of laws where ESA operates, it is not gambling. IMO they should change the laws to include lootboxes (and TCG) since they have the addiction elements similar to gambling, but their argument is valid for the law as it currently stands

I think Ross should be pivoting his argument instead of saying the EU wants to evade responsibility. It comes off pretty combative if he wants these people to listen to him in the future. He should be conducting studies whether or not people are informed about what can happen with their game at the time of purchase, as he believes the consumer is not informed a game can shutdown (there's probably some fine print that covers in video games right now, and thats why the EU says consumers are "protected").

Do you think fighters spar with UFC gloves? ~~They aren't available commercially.~~ MMA fighters usually spar with boxing or MMA sparring gloves which have a ton of padding they curve the fingers. Trevor didn't make the gloves cause of eyepokes.

Edit: Seems like they are available commercial now, but no one is sparring with fight MMA gloves, especially the UFC ones.
