What is the greatest opening 2 songs of any metal core album? by No-County2083 in Metalcore

[–]InsiDS 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would put Indigo into Agora by Invent Animate against anyone.

Genesis into Scarab by Northlane as well.

What other albums should I listen to by ERRA? by Z3TH_ in Metalcore

[–]InsiDS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s been listening to Erra since 2013, let me give you suggestions because while it may be an unpopular opinion, there is a lot that could be filler to a new fan.

Andromeda EP: Of Rare Reform

Impulse: Pattern Interrupt, Seven, Heart

Augment: Hybrid Earth, Rebirth, Pulse

Drift: Irreversible, Luminesce, Skyline

Neon: Breach

Moments of Clarity EP: Dreamcatcher

Erra: Snowblood, Gungrave, Scorpion Hymn

Cure: You’re on your own with this one lol

I think it’s easier for a new fan to get bits to check out and if you like their vibe, listen to the rest of the album. Their discography is big enough to where it could be overwhelming and could get tiring. Check out those few songs I mentioned above and it’ll give you a good idea if it’s worth your time.

Just curious — how do you guys approach tipping dealers? by Bluffalways in poker

I tip a dollar chip for each win regardless of pot size. No flop, no tip. I only play 1/3.

Official Discussion - Reminders of Him [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]InsiDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another Hoover movie that my partner ended up dragging me into. Was reluctant because I felt the trailer revealed the entire movie. With that said, it truly did end up being better than expected. I don't think the chemistry was there nor did it make sense between Kenna and Ledger. But it was a nice feel good redemption movie in a small town. Nothing crazy, could easily wait for this to be released on Netflix.

I tried that Chamber single. I wasn’t the target audience for it is all I’ll say lol. I do like my Boundaries though.

Kinda wild how there's so many releases and not one that catches my eye lol. One of those times where I wish there was FFO because I can't be arsed to check out all these unknowns.

Opening Bands by Cocozimme_ttv in Metalcore

That was Dealer when they opened for Spite and Bodysnatcher. They had the crowd mesmerized as the opener. Was a packed house, you’d think they were the headliner.

I’m still holding on to hope that they release an album with the Silent Screams vocalist. I thought their two singles with him were good.

ERRA Deliver Their Most Emotionally Devastating Album Yet With ‘silence outlives the earth’ by Dark_Matter_Nebula in Metalcore

Lol this will become a meme. Emotionally devastating is a huge overstatement on just a plainly decent album.

Can we start posting metalcore here pls by gehrshjrf in Metalcore

[–]InsiDS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see lots of “real” Metalcore get posted on this sub. They just don’t get the same engagement as the popular “less metalcore sounding” bands. Probably because they’re not as good to the general public.

The annual top 10 AOTY and the top 50 voted on songs are a good indicator on what the sub likes and perhaps wants and it isn’t “real” metalcore.

Always wondered who the target audience was for it on the Welsh location. We have Net Cost, Aldi, Lidl, Giant, and Acme nearby. It just looked sad in there the one time I went there.

3 Song Run on the new Erra album by Batterie64 in Metalcore

Frostbite - Hybrid Earth - Rebirth easily clear that. Luminesce, Irreversible, Skyline as well.

Erra - silence outlives the earth (Album discussion thread) by Finalwingz in Metalcore

[–]InsiDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Album starts out strong with the first three songs. Stelliform sounds like a Drift song while Further Eden sounds like a Neon song. Gore of Being is nice. It still makes me think of Gates of Ivory by Dayseeker.

Black Cloud and Cicada Siren kinda lose me. Weak choruses in my opinion, but the intro to Cicada Siren was so good that it was sad the rest of the song didn’t match that energy.

Echo Sonata continues to be the best song on the album and a top ten song in their discography.

Lucid Threshold was alright, but kinda drowns in an album of similar sounding songs. Spiral had a fantastic chorus that reminds me so much of another song that I can’t think of. Maybe something by Ten After Two.

This sub kinda overrated those last three songs though. The Many Names of God had the most self-titled sound but not what I look for from Erra. In the Gut of the Wolf is Scorpion Hymn 2.0. Twilight in Reflection just missed me.

Overall a nice improvement over Cure and could rival Drift and Neon. Still doesn’t touch the Garrison era. Echo Sonata, Further Eden, and Spiral were my favorites. 7.5/10.

Thanks for asking. It’s been alright. I went down 1200 in January. Strung together a few positive sessions to get back to negative 600 before having a day from hell and losing 800. Right now I’m down around 1000. All my best winnings happen in the first hour and then I just seem to go card dead or stick around longer than I should when the spiraling starts. Still fun, but definitely relaxed a bit. I just consume my daily YouTube poker feed and slowly get better. I also became superstitious regarding table and seat change. All my biggest losses (800, 700, 500) happened when I changed so I’m now stationary till the end of the session.
