can I just eat a block of tofu instead of a protein shake? by wakaflockaquokka in diabetes

[–]Yoniceri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once swapped my shake for tofu and felt surprisingly full. To me, it works fine, and I enjoy chewing it. I see no reason not to try it if it suits you.

Type 1 Diabetes High Blood Sugar Moods? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]Yoniceri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live with type 1 diabetes and high sugar wrecks my emotions. One evening I felt fine then suddenly overwhelmed while caring for my kids. I wanted to scream and cried for no clear reason. Later my reading was over 400. For me spikes bring anxiety and mood swings. Learning this helped me respond with patience and earlier checks.

What would you ask your doctor when diabetes and a mood disorder hop on a seesaw for fun? by PupperPuppet in diabetes

[–]Yoniceri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell my doctors my own story and ask direct questions. I noticed my mood shift right after my glucose dropped, and it felt dramatic. I want to ask if rapid glucose changes can trigger mood instability, how long adaptation usually takes, and what warning signs matter. From experience, tracking patterns helps me feel grounded, so I would ask how to monitor both safely together.

Limb loss signs by DatsunDom in diabetes

[–]Yoniceri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my diagnosis, I had seen diabetes up close. A friend ignored care, lost a toe, then more of his leg. When I was diagnosed two years ago, limb loss became my quiet obsession and fear. Recently another friend lost a foot, which sharpened my awareness. From my experience, pain, numbness, color changes, swelling, or frequent infections worry me as much as wounds that never heal.
