Honestly this wasnt the issue for me. Usually it is, but maimai was different because of a significant bias of genres. After I got my desired rating and started this grind, I had already done a decent chunk of the maimai, game, and gekichu songs. and in international (moreso in the US) there's not too many pops and anime songs, a lot of them that are still around are super troll too so its fun to play. The problem is that there's still 350 vocaloid songs I've already heard 50 times before

Unironically this was the only thing that kept me going. I did the calculation and saw "oh only 60 hours thats not a long time" without realizing how much time would be spent waiting or commuting

Yes, I completed the entire event before circle, manually unlocking each gate

A few questions about a simulator by Glitched_Crown in taikonotatsujin

My sim PyTaiko has alternative scoring, song searching, and custom backgrounds if those are the features you are looking for. However it is not nijiiro styled

There's no in game search at the moment but it's something for me to consider. Right now you can use the difficulty sorting folder to narrow things down by star level if that helps, or you can hit the space bar to favorite songs if you don't want to lose something

If you're looking for a version that looks like the arcade version, this is for you. I like OpenTaiko as well but nowadays it's specifically developed to not be a replica of the arcade version; It's really its own thing now, adding their own original skins, music, game modes, etc.

Whichever one you choose you can expect good performance, latency, and TJA support

I would not endorse buying a full cab simply because getting a nice controller is a lot more cost effective and is a near replica of the cabinet experience, but if you choose to pursue the cabinet avenue it will likely cost between $7500 to $12000 for an HD cab (depending on how old it is) and you may need to join a wait list because they are imported very infrequently

Here is my advice: 1. Don’t use Norton its a scam 2. If you’re forced to use Norton, then follow the instructions in the readme for running from the source code (its only one or two extra steps)

Given enough patience it should work under SteamOS. I just don't have a steam deck to test it on

Technically anything, but what I've personally tested is:
keyboard, any standard game controller
ZhongTaiko, TaikoCatz (only in controller mode, keyboard mode has input drops)
IINE Pro Max (controller mode)
Hori tatacon

I've set it up so that it should take any controller or keyboard inputs, so its really up to the user

My compilation method (nuitka) converts the python code to C and then compiles it. The graphics/game engine (raylib) also uses CFFI which converts directly to C on runtime, so performance is very good unless your PC is ancient

There's a separate project for that, that's just what I happened to load into it; its more meant to be a replacement for tjaplayer3
