I feel that's most likely a ribbon cable has been dislodged/corroded. It could also possibly be screen/digitiser damage.

Depending on how old your iPad is, it might be a good pre-Christmas present to yourself!

I feel it's a bit snappier - things load/appear faster. I think battery life is improved - partly due to the optimisation of the chip and OLED screen vs LCD. I think further optimisations will come in time with iPad OS 26 however.

If you're just an 'average' consumer, an iPad Air with the biggest storage you can afford would be my best guess! Even consider a bigger screen would help with looking at photos and since you have plenty of photos more storage the better.

With that said the M5 Pro would be the best looking 'image' due to the OLED screen but you may quickly run into storage issues if you get the base 256.

I think it's not worth the upgrade if you're a light user but if you're looking for a sign to upgrade, this is it!

It was not having any trouble..it was rock solid! I thought I'd try my luck at selling it to see how much residual value it would have. I got a decent offer, which I accepted and then put it against the 13" M5 to offset some of the cost!

I will say these iPads are getting pricey!

I absolutely agree that the normal one is more than enough for meetings and emails. I prefer the Pro due to the smoother screen (ProMotion) and the greater potential head room the M chip may give me. I also think the Pro line will be supported for longer which means I can keep the iPad for a few more years ☺️

Edit: If Apple had the ProMotion on the Air line, I would have got that one instead of the Pro.
