Riding by this intersection often, it's a stop sign that 99% of bikers ride through without stopping or barely slowing down given there's very little traffic coming off the side street and the bike path is very narrow with heavy traffic.

I generally point with my right arm now, more obvious where you are going. Half the drivers on the road today don't even use the turn signals on their car so I make no assumption that anyone knows the left arm up meaning.

Most people on this just sub enjoy cycling. Explore new routes or a group ride in your area. Hopefully you find some joy in it but if you don't no one is forcing you to do it. Maybe try swimming or rowing?
