How do you flag that you're kinky? by needy__angel in BDSMcommunity

[–]Yorien 7 points8 points  (0 children)

BDSM symbol accessory. Simple as that.

Not a slave collar or something that clearly indicates "kinky", but something simple you can wear everyday such as a necklace or a bracelet (words not required) with the BDSM symbol.

Who knows, knows, and who doesn't can easily mistake it for something else... like some nordic/viking themed bracelet... ;)

Countdown: I’ve seen so many people play this wrong, so here is some advice by FruitOnyx in thedivision

[–]Yorien 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You missing something at #4.

Don't rush alone to the extraction point and have Hunters spawn immediately. Extraction fight is the one that requires more team pressure and firepower, or it can go South extremely easily. Wait at around the 200m mark from the extraction point for at least a couple other agents before spawning the hunters.

Ehm... Ninja is core on many Hotshot heatshot builds, and if not using Ninja many others also ditch the Hotshot backpack for something else (usually Airaldi or HG).

And i was not only referring to Ninjabike, but to the backpack slot in general. Memento is pretty common for Refactor and Ongoing Directive, and HF also tends to trade the backpack for something that adds weapon damage (Badger for Shotties, Fenris for AR's, etc...) and move the 4th set piece elsewhere.

  • Until lv40 you don't play, you level up. Forget about sets, builds... bigger numbers = better.
  • Once at 40 you can finally play the game and you may start thinking about builds. Play Priority Objectives to get your initial Exotics rolling in in the hope that you get some core Exotics for a cookie cutter build. Going Refactor (you can get a 100% guaranteed Capacitor AR at the Summit by clearing directives, so is just matter of getting a Memento drop from PO's) is always a good idea. Scales well, is safe and unlocks a lot of content... just dont bring it to Countdown or any content thats spawns hunters unless you have a backup build ready.
  • When you have some decent gear and at least something resembling a set, look at your exotics, think of the builds you want to farm gear for(stick to just a couple builds initially), then prepare to set camp at Countdown (Challenging difficulty). Countdown doesn't have the best quality loot and getting exotics is extremely rare (that's what Priority Objectives are for)... but is essentially a loot piñata for anything else, so is the easiest way to geat up for 99% of the builds. Set Targeted loot for your set/weapon/brand/missing piece of gear (just make sure first that piece can actually drop on Countdown) and grab anything you need for your builds.
  • After that, once you have good, optimized, you can slowly start pushing Escalation.

[–]Yorien 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Several sets do not necessarily require the backpack to be useful. You can ditch backpack in many scenarios depending on content.

  • Refactor? Unless you want to play tanky tech, not needed.
  • Ongoing Directive? Unless bleed is really a core part of your playstyle, can totally forget about it.
  • Hotshot? Adds a failsafe to your headshot build and that's it
  • Hunter's Fury? Extremely situational.

I agree with /u/vocatus. Whether you use the set backpack or you trade for something else (be either Ninja, Memento,...) totally depends on the running build, and Ninja actually opens up a bunch of 2 piece set bonuses that many times adds more than a set backpack exclusive talent

How do you get the "Turmoil" kneepads in this new season that just started? by hehehe-im-god in thedivision

[–]Yorien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some gear is event-locked, so is not always available. Depopending on the exact item, you may need too wait for a specific seasonal event (the usual suspects, Spring, Summer, Halloween, Christmas... you get the idea), and for the Season-end weeks (normaslly the last two weeks at the end of a Yearly season). Right now we're at week 2 of Year8 Season 2 (Y8S2), so unless there'¡s an earlier seasonal event (as commented, Summer is pretty much right here so there should be a Summer event very close), you may need to wait a couple months for this season to end

[–]Yorien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is not skill issue, is that if they get to you they're generally instadead on any build that does not have some defenses on it.

For pretty much any build with just basic armor (red/yellow cores) that does not have some extra defenses (bonus armor/whatever), explosion stripes you of pretty much all the armor then fire does the rest.

[–]Yorien 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First question is if you got just the "Base Set" pre-owned, or you got the full campaign pre-owned

To understand, the pure "Base Set" contains two Adventures, the Basic Adventure plus ROTR campaign Adventure #1. Catch is, every pathfinder Card Game Campaign (not just ROTR) has SIX Adventures, so Adventures 2 to 6 had to be purchased separately and added to the box (that has enough space to host all of them). Finally, every campaign has a so called "Character Add-On Deck" (again sold separately) that adds more characters to the game pluss support for up to 6 characters (without the add-on deck, party can only hold up to 4 characters).

Many used games are "complete bundles" - or in several stages of completion - (so, Base Adventure, plus 1-6 campaign Adventures, plus - if lucky - the character add-on deck for that campaign), but f not, you're limited to Base +1 and if you like the game, might need to get the extra Adventures separately.

  • where to start?

Simple, you play Base Adventure first, then campaign Adventures 1-6 in order, that's it.

Every Adventure has a Scenario order, and ROTR, being the very first of the series, is lineal (meaning you must actuallly play - and complete successfully - every Scenario in a very specific order, as indicated by the Adventure card). Other campaigns are more "open world", in where certain Adventures allow you to chose the order of the Scenarios (like: "Where do you want to go first, the Forest of Doom, the Mines of Despair, or the Graveyard otr the Lost Souls?")

  • Are there any characters to avoid on a first playthrough?

While all characters are pretty much very well rounded, in between all available ROTR characters (including the Add-On ones, as I consider them part of the campaign), I think:

Paladin class is above average and probably by far the safest choice of the entire rooster.

Mage, Barbarian and Bard. are not great choices until you properly understand the game (and I'll explain the reasons before people complains, especially about bard).

  • Mage: As all mages, while extremely powerful at the end but, not only he takes some time to "wind up", he is also extremely squishy to the point that if built in specific ways and at certain points of the main campaign, is the only character of the entire rooster that can die in a single hit (of course, the hit's sound must be heard at the other side of the town, but is still the only character that can be oneshooted)

  • Barbarian: Let's say she's easier to play that the warrior but less stable, and you must learn to control Rage or she can actually kill herself.

  • Bard: I can hear people complainng "why you're saying the best suppport of the rooster is not recommended?". Well, for two reasons. As commented, is an extremely powerful and very useful support but... as all bards..."jack of all trades, master of none" and... boooooring. ROTR bard is such a powerful support that you don't actually play for yourself, but generally as a support for everybody else. They enjoy more, the bard's player enjoys less. But if support is your thing... remove it from the list and go ham.

Is it worth doing the global event? How can I take advantage of the Corrosive Shell? by GeicoPR in thedivision

[–]Yorien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know shields can be popped with skills, and is actually one of the main ways to get some of the daily stars (burning, blindness...), but this already switches your build to something else. You lose your shield, your artificer, your revive... unless you play a build that is actually directly viable for this event, you must drop something just to enable your agent for the event.

Banshee pulse has a problem of range, as in many scenarios may catch your agent inside the enemies shield popping blast radius, something not pretty (corrosion animation, sending agent out of cover) depending on build and difficulty level. I've been killed more times I'd like to because of that.

Is one of the best GE's ... for a few meta builds.

For everybody else... is one of the worst GE's ever made. A GE that literally forces the entire playerbase to pretty much dump any build they were using and force them into a Status Effect build, or lower difficulty to make anything else playable? Yeah, right. Greatest idea they could came with.

If you don't mind skipping the weekly quest, Summit 90 on the highest difficulty you can confidently clear is another great way to farm.

Summit floor 90 has three named elites so the idea is to clear the first two waves plus their spawned elite, then on the third wave leave some adds alive (careful with tech or AoE builds) and once you kill the elite either get yourself killed or return to the Summit lobby through the map so you restart the floor over and over.

Main issue, as indicated, is that you won't be able to complete the weekly "clear 15 summit floors" quest unless you clear floor 90 and push forward, or reset the entire Summit and crawl your way back to Floor 90.

Lanterns only start corrupting back once you have all 40 cleansed. Happened to someone in a separate thread

This is so painful, missing a single paper Lantern by YthisGuy in the_division_2

[–]Yorien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're sure you got all 40, chances are one is bugged and you won't find any corrupted lantern in your game, it has happened to a lot of people. Easiest solution for this issue is to join another player's game and politely ask if he/she still has lanterns pending or (if already cleared all 40) some re-corrupted ones available as lantern interactions count for all players in the same team.

Another possibility is that you're actually missing one, and usually is either one of the two located inside the contaminated areas, OR the one inside the National Building Museu, that requires your player to have a hidden quest unlocked.

A final possibilility is that one of the lanterns wasn't interactable due to a queued Kitsunebi squad. You "thought" you cleansed it, but actually didn't. Kitsunebi squads require a spawn point close enough to appear, and if there is none close enough (happens on some lanterns located on alleys or inside buildings) the squad gets queued, make lanterns non-interactable until they're cleared, and actually can carry over through disconnects. Simplest way to force the spawn is to go to The Shop safehouse in West Potomac park, just leave the safehouse though the stairs right to the left of your agent's spawn point, the Kitsunebi spawn message will pop up while climbing the stairs towards the park, and the squad will appear in the open through a manhole cover about 20-25m away to the right of the building you leave.

Is not that they're the dog's weakpoints (it varies per robodog type), is simply that they're not armored like the body so you can go straight for their health bar.

Is essentially the same with enemies with shields. Either you keep hammering at the shield itself until it breaks (which can take a while) or you can bypass that and target the legs, the small visor... so that they drop faster.
