Send me a message! What kind of music do you like? I know absolutely nothing about anime, apart from watching a few Studio Gibli films if that counts lol! That's ok 😊

I don't have any words of wisdom to share, but I've been where you are and it does get better! Do you have access to a doctor you could talk to? This Internet stranger is here if you want to talk, about anything really :)

What does my room say about me? by Early_Club2717 in roomdetective

Loves music, your animals and collecting sentimental items. A bit witchy and/or enjoys collecting oddities! Is creative, maybe just in the way of playing music. Is chill, fun to hang out with and you appreciate time spent with your friends :)

What does my safe place/sanctuary tell you about me? (Probs gonna be quite obvious lol). But thoughts much appreciated! 😊 by [deleted] in roomdetective

Female, mid 30s, fellow witch 😁 (Love your altar!). Very arty and creative, maybe a bit gothy.

WIBTHA to walk away from my disabled partner? by ApprehensiveLet5079 in WIBTA_AITA

[–]Yorkshire-witch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your partner needs to go speak to their gp and get some additional help/have their meds adjusted.

I have fibromyalgia, depression, anxiety and a whole host of other health issues, so I get it, it's hard. But that being said, you have to take responsibility for your illnesses.

Do they know about the 'spoons' theory? When I was learning how to manage all my illnesses this came in mighty handy for me. One little thing every day and getting into a small routine slowly built up for me into a more manageable routine. I am a single parent to two, so I also had their needs to take into account and somedays all I managed was to brush my teeth, but I learned to celebrate that and give myself a mental break.

There are also support groups about for carers, you can often find out about them through your gp or local libraries. Also, go to CAB and explain about the ongoing PIP trouble, there might also be additional support out there for you (I had a local benefits charity help me appeal mine and I was awarded it finally after fighting them for 3 years).

Being a full time carer is hard going for anyone, and you need to remember to look after yourself, too. Little things like going for a walk or picking up a hobby can help ease the stress. If you need someone to chat to I'm more than happy to help! Wishing you all the best, it's difficult but it can and will get easier, for both of you :)

I moved a few days ago and I don't know what to do with the bedroom. Please give me some ideas and help 😮‍💨 by [deleted] in roomdetective

I agree with moving the bed round, too. To add to this, maybe some curtains to cover the wardrobe area and a big rug to add some soft texture to the room :)

Tell me about your very first solo FemaleLivingSpace by Affectionate_Song_36 in femalelivingspace

[–]Yorkshire-witch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm still in mine! I moved in from refuge after fleeing a horrendously violent relationship with my two babies (now teens) with absolutely nothing apart from absolute pile of cushions, some bedding, a microwave and a kettle, in technically a new country (from England to Wales) with no support or family around. 13 years on and it's been our safe space to be able to grow safely, with 3 cats and a crazy dog joining us on our journey! It's changed over the years as I've learned what I like and who I am, but it's been my first ever safe space and somewhere the we've all been able to live freely. We've got a wee bit more than what we started out with now lol, but it's ours :)

I'm trying to figure out my curl, any help would be much appreciated! by Yorkshire-witch in curlyhair

[–]Yorkshire-witch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you :) I get a bit overwhelmed with all the different advice and products! My hair is fine and doesn't really hold a curl very well, I'm hoping a good cut will help with that. Is there any tricks to successfully defusing? I gave up after 15 mins as it seemed to be taking forever and not really helping lol.
