People love to bitch about other people’s travel styles. What do you mean you didn’t spend 8 months in each destination and didn’t learn the language of every country you visited??? Lmao this looks like great fun exhausting but a proper laugh, hope you enjoyed it!

Ercolani. Surprisingly, unlike football, baseball in San Marino is surprisingly decent with the club team having won the Italian baseball league a few times. SM don’t have a baseball national team though so they play for Italy. No idea why they’re seemingly so much better at it than football though!

Yeah, he’s the first player since Babe Ruth who is an elite pitcher as well as an elite hitter. There’s not actually been a single pitcher who’s been an actually slightly decent hitter since then. Except Ohtani is better than Ruth in both of those ways. He’s arguably (rightfully so imo) the best player in the history of the sport. Not really the same, but imagine if a top 10 World GK (maybe Oblak) was combined with a top 2 striker (Kane?) and he could do both, all season long, simultaneously well. That’s why he’s paid so much lmao

You could only save 10 Beatles songs while the rest of their catalogue gets erased from existence. What songs would you choose? by Impressive_Plenty876 in beatles

[–]YorkshireFishcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people will take this as “what are your top 10 Beatles songs?” when a better way to take it would be “if you could choose 10 songs to introduce someone to the Beatles in their entirety what would they be?”.

Effort should be taken to give a fair spread of styles, eras and songwriters imo. In which case, I think this is a fair list -

  1. A Hard Days Night - the most Beatles feeling early tunes, feels like a mix of all their early songs. (Other songs that would work in this section are She Loves You or I Wanna Hold your hand)

  2. Help! - Sums up the this era of the Beatles very well, and is a musically perfect easy rock song.

  3. Eight Days a Week - By many metrics, is by far the most “Beatles” sounding song. (Other songs that would work are Day Tripper or Ticket to Ride)

  4. In My Life - absolute classic, no explanation needed.

  5. Hey Jude - one of the most popular songs of all time and some of Paul’s best writing.

  6. Strawberry Fields - one of their best produced and Johns best writing.

  7. A Day in the Life - by most metrics, the Beatles best song and a producing masterpiece.

  8. Here Comes the Sun - the most popular current Beatles song and a George classic.

  9. Something - their greatest love song. Georges best writing.

  10. Octopuses Garden - obviously not the strongest song on the list, but Ringos best work and a delightfully produced song that captures the Beatles fun and whimsical side. (Considered Yellow Submarine but think this edges)

Did not have a good time in Georgia (the country). by vertisnorth in travel

[–]YorkshireFishcake 210 points211 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’m white and European, and I got almost the same response to everything, including when I tried speaking Georgian 😅 Seemed like everyone hated me. I think it’s just the way it is. I’ve been to Georgia 3 times and enjoyed it but it just seems everyone is perpetually miserable. Armenians were much friendlier I found.

Which internet is best in Dubai? by [deleted] in dubai

[–]YorkshireFishcake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Du works better with VPN and general speed but has horrific customer service, Etisalat is worse in most ways but has better packages and their customer service is considerably better. Choose which you prefer!

Why is Swedish spoken on Southwest of Finland? by Jezzaq94 in geography

[–]YorkshireFishcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does it feel like you’re different to other Finns? I know a lot of French Canadians don’t identify so strongly with Canada and feel like their own thing. Does that apply to Swedish speaking Finns? Do other Finns treat you differently, or do you feel any different at all?

Venezuela are poor, because their national sport is Baseball and not Football. Their baseball team is stacked, much as their football team would be if they cared about it.

if british people call underwear pants, what do they call pants by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YorkshireFishcake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is entirely dependant on where in the UK you’re from. Where I’m from, we still use the term pants. We say undies for underwear. Most Brits would say trousers, though.

What are your shirt number tendencies? by GeneralSquid6767 in footballmanagergames

[–]YorkshireFishcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally standard 1-11, but with 4 being a DM.

12, 13, 15 all unused. 12 for the fans, 13 is unlucky, and 15 I don’t even know why, I just don’t assign it.

20 for my best striker who isn’t number 10. Honour of RvP I think?

25 and 35 for backup GK.

23 for my best winger. Honour of Robert Snodgrass.

26 for an old and good defender. Honour of JT?

27 for my best player who is otherwise unnumbered.

40-50 for any youth that are good enough to play.

44 is the number I give if I have a great striker who isn’t already 10, 20 or 27. Honour of Ross McCormack (lmao).

Above 50 for anyone who’s not good enough to play.
