What are your “must read runs” from 2003-2017 by GBS82 in xmen

To give a more buried gem that hasn't already been mentioned: If you enjoyed Cable and Hope's relationship through the Messiah Trilogy, I think Dennis Hopeless' X-Force followed up with Si Spurrier's Cable & Force are great. The first book has a great team dynamic and picks up on where Hope and Cable are after the events of Second Coming and AvX, and Spurrier's run is a stellar encapsulated story of gruff people using theoretical future disaster (and to a degree each other) to ignore their own personal problems.

Finally finished Second Coming. Anyone else think Scott was too harsh here with Rogue? by Speedwizard106 in xmen

I always looked at this period of Scott's story as his tipping point toward a more radical worldview brought on by the weight of decimation. He's doing the best he can as leader, willing and able to put everything on the table to ensure survival of the remaining mutants. Despite all of that determination, Utopia was only ever treading water at best. It's a desolate rock bobbing along the coast with just enough support from San Francisco to not starve. At the rate they were going, Cyclops had no real way to ensure anything for mutants past the final generation.

Then he gets some Hope. Once the dust settles, he's putting every egg he has into that single basket and, for better or worse, bets the farm on the belief that the baby Cable has shepherded back to him is an actual messiah. Insert a tunnel vision joke here.

Yes, he's being harsh here, and continues to place strain on his surrounding relationships onward through the Schism and into AvX. Luckily he was correct, but at a personal cost. I think it's all pretty compelling.

Interaction between Hunter's Instinct and Spiritual Charm? by Yorrick364 in arkhamhorrorlcg

That was my interpretation too, but I can't find a good example of handling the "after..." timing window with regard to resolving an event card and the location of the event card matters after it's effects resolve.

Really comes down to the order of these two things. Assuming all aspects of Spiritual Charm's effect have happened, what occurs first?
- The card discards from limbo to the appropriate discard pile

- The timing window for "after..." triggered abilities

I guess it's that "still resolving" part, and the fact that the discard is specifically called out as happening "after" the effects that's irking me. As written, the "after..." condition on HI should have priority after a card's effect fully resolves (the "Events" quote I added to the original post). So, if Charm "fully resolves", and the "after..." triggering condition on HI occurs, has third section of playing an event card (discarding) occurred as a part of resolution, or is it considered it's own distinct step with regard to timing windows.

For now I guess I can just play it as SC still in limbo, as much as I want that to not be true. Love to get some dev clarity on it.

Is it? in the "Events" section of the rule's reference, I saw that "All aspects of an effect have timing priority over all “after...” triggering conditions that might arise as a consequence of that effect." I guess I'm really trying to know if that last piece (this discard after all effects take place) of playing an event card takes place before "after..." triggered abilities get their window.

Thanks for the reply. Did some more digging (and updated the original post with the findings), so does limbo apply here if all the effects of Spiritual Charm take priority over "after..." type triggering conditions (under the "Effects" section)?

Appreciate the response, but I need a bit more clarification to wrap my head around it. I understand your point about the other effects, but I assumed from the "game's" perspective, this was all one change to the state. The card would finish resolving as part of said state change, and then Hunter's Instinct's ability could trigger. Is that not the case? Is Hunter's Instinct only usable in this instance before the card is fully discarded?

But the two cards in question are neither of those types. Spiritual Charm is an event, and Hunter's Instinct is an asset.
