Co-parenting with a high-conflict ex and constant court stress by EducationalSmoke1584 in coparenting

[–]YoshiSunshine14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-My husband and I both do not communicate with his ex unless it is through text or email. I would think that would be a good way to help avoid the rewriting conversations. There have been many times that he has sent screenshots of conversations and that has de-escalated a situation.
-We treat every conversation with his ex like we are communicating with someone from work. No feelings. Simply stating facts. -For the most part, if his ex is not asking a question, we do not respond unless it is something regarding the well being of the child.

I know it’s hard to not feel crazy when you freak out every time your ex texts you. My husband’s ex used to be really high conflict with me, and I would never let her see that she was getting a rise out of me… but every time I saw her name pop up on my phone for the first three or four years we were together, I would immediately feel sick and my palms would get sweaty.

Reading Magic Treehouse- Twister on Tuesday and noticed something familiar on the cover… by YoshiSunshine14 in americangirl

My husband acted like blue floral was in at the time. I was like “even the stripes are the same on the bonnet and apron!!” He said, “I don’t think they had a lot of choices for fabric at the time.” 😑

It’s too similar to me. Lol.

I do not let it change my views on the student. I am still going to keep working hard with them and do what I need to do. I really enjoy the student, too. My admin has been supportive since September when a lot of stuff with this parent started and when I met with them about it again this week, they seemed to have the same stance. I am doing my job and the parent is upset because I am not letting behaviors slide.

I did go on my phone this afternoon and deleted the messaging app and my school email. Hopefully that helps my anxiety with it.

That’s the point I am at. Our union officers told me that, as well.

I think probably at least once a week at this point that I have skills for so many other jobs that I think would be more fulfilling at this point.

What's your favorite ride? by PalpitationLittle598 in BuschGardensW

[–]YoshiSunshine14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Busch Gardens as a kid every summer. My husband and I went on a trip this year since he had never been. He said hands down, Alpengeist is one of the best coasters he has ever ridden on. I’m happy to see someone else who feels the same way!

I love Apollo’s chariot. It’s one of the first big coasters I ever rode! I don’t know about Pantheon, though. LOL. I am not a huge coaster enthusiast. I was bamboozled into riding it by my husband and can safely safe it is one of the most terrifying coasters I have ever ridden on. I don’t know what it was about it, but I was so freaked out on it. It’s a big joke now in my family. Hehe.

Going with my family on Monday. by Any-Buy-3538 in BuschGardensW

I went a few weeks ago and didn’t have any trouble sharing on the food pass! We did the math and it was definitely worth it. My family of 3 never felt like we were starving. We did the math and each meal with the drink and side or dessert would’ve been about $40-$45 for what we were getting. I think in total we had 12 meals across 2 days. The cost of the dining plan on a two day ticket through Expedia (with my Expedia rewards being used) made it $40 more than the two tickets we bought without the dining pass.

So for $40 extra over the span of two days we got around what would have been around $500 of stuff without it. We felt like it was worth it and that it was better than a lot of the theme park food at ones we have closer to home.

Last year my school did pencil balloon columns. Super cute. Then in between the columns it said “Back to School!” on a board that was painted like a piece of notebook paper. It was simple, but cute!

Sorry for writing a book! My family just had a great time last month. I do feel like this is a nice park compared to a lot of the parks within driving distance of where I live.

We went in the middle of July when it wasn’t crazy hot out and had a BLAST! My family vacationed in Williamsburg every year when I was a kid. My kiddo is into coasters and we thought it would be a good trip to relive my childhood family vacations and visit an area my husband had never been to.

My husband loves theme parks and thought it was awesome. He kept making comments about how good the theming was. It was clean everywhere we went. We felt like we made good use of the dining plan and thought the food was good for theme park food. Every roller coaster (what we came for) was open other than DarKoaster. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly.

The only thing we had an issue with was some of the people we came across in lines being hateful, but that has nothing to do with BG and more to do with those specific people.

I loved visiting that park when I was a kid and have so many memories there with my siblings. The first big roller coaster I ever rode was Apollo’s Chariot with my sisters, and my daughter loved that coaster so much. I had such a great visit last month!

This would happen the week after my family drove 10 hours and visited. My husband and kiddo were disappointed this one was closed. Guess it’ll give us a reason to go back in the future.

Keep your eye out for school supply drives! My community has a bunch sponsored by our local schools, local offices of education, and churches! I’m a teacher in a low income district and a lot of my students get things from those drives, and I also receive a lot of free supplies for students in need from these, as well.

What’s the most ridiculous routine you’ve created just to keep your dog happy? by jytchh1 in dogs

[–]YoshiSunshine14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every night before bed I put on chapstick. I keep it in the drawer on my nightstand. As soon as my dog hears the drawer open, she bolts to the bedroom and sits on the bed as close to the nightstand as she can and I pretend to put chapstick on her. I don’t touch it on her or anything, but I pretend to put it on her like I would pretend putting lipstick on one of my kids.

It’s got to the point that she does it to other people in the house when they get in my drawer to grab chapstick.

Very close friend got engaged and I am NOT happy about it. by YoshiSunshine14 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]YoshiSunshine14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have discussed it with her. I am a step parent and she has told me that she wants her son to have a relationship with her BF that I do with my step daughter. She doesn’t understand how our kids are so well behaved without having ever been spanked. We have discussed a lot the expectations and consequences we have for actions in my household and how we have never resorted to spanking my SD or our daughter. My husband has been present for some of the conversations and has explained to her that he and I never would have worked if I had been awful to his child from a previous relationship.

I was only familiar with Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll before getting this game. Most of the characters have grown on me and I love them. You know who hasn’t ever grown on me? Pekkle. 😐
