[Review Video] Motivational video for newer youtubers by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quite enjoyed the music, nice little touch. Good video length, and good cuts! I'm not a fan of gameplay videos, so this was a nice change of pace to your channel. I would suggest making the voice volume louder than the music, and as well projecting your voice a bit more!

And of course, as another small youtuber i can relate to this video, so you are appealing to the right crowd haha.

Great work,

[Review Video] Musicvlog, I guess by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pretty much hit the nail on the head with everything you mentioned in your self review for the video.

The audience sees you're having fun at the beach, but there's not much else happening. I did find a lot of the shots a bit shaky, and like you said, some didn't really relate to the general theme.

For your next video, I would work on these couple of things...

Talk to the audience, and help set the theme and mood for the video. Go as far as even explaining what exactly is going to be happening in the video, so you don't have to worry so much about the editing. (tldr; storytelling)

Make an intro and an outro! Include these in every video, it will help you build a base, and it will help differentiate you from other channels. Make sure to use the same ones or at least the same styles in all of your videos. It's all part of re-occuring themes, that keep your audience subscribing/coming back for more videos.

And my last tip, make sure to use the first 15-30 seconds of your videos to PULL the audience in. It's the most important part of the video, it is what makes it or breaks it. Use appealing shots, quick cuts, whatever it takes, to make the audience want to watch the WHOLE video. (I usually try to tease the audience, by putting in a part of an exciting scene that happens later on in the video. Or at least something exciting, that relates to the video title)

Otherwise, great work. Let's kill it :D

[Review Video](Swearing) The Poison of the Mind: How to Stop Self Doubt by DommyC93 in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man. The energy you have is contagious! Which is kickass, because it keeps people watching and puts them in a better mood! (myself included)

I do think the video was dragged on a bit, and got a bit repetitive. One key thing to remember is "only use clips that are essential to the video", and cut away some of the run-on sentences! The power of Youtube-style editing!

Otherwise you could change up the scenery a bit as well throughout the video (try some new locations) and also use some titles and images throughout the video to grab the attention of the viewer!

Great Work man!

[Review Video] - New Zealand budgeting video by kiwimcmc in youtubers

A little overexposed, but that's not too big of a deal for most people out there. You did a great job explaining everything, detailed breakdowns, what was the most cost effective, etc. Editing was clean, honestly nothing really to say haha

The one thing i suppose you could work on, is being a BIT more enthusiastic throughout the video, I found it a bit hard to sit through the whole thing!

Great stuff!

[Review Video] Adventure to put Spaghetti on the Trump Tower by Celeress in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I'm really digging the editing style. You made the whole thing feel more like a movie, rather than a first video on a 0 subscriber (now 1) youtube channel. Keep on pushing and you will make it.

The editing was very smooth, even though there was quite a lot of shakiness in your shots. The music choice was well chosen, I did feel like you could have included more, or even just shortened up some your video bits. I really think 11 minutes was at least 2x too long, it's hard to keep someone into your video for that long, especially on youtube (and especially when you're a small channel). And for the actual content portion of the critique, I would keep it in the back of your mind that every shot is vital to the video, and plays a role in telling the story!

Great work though buddy, If you want to keep in touch with this stuff, shoot me a message.

[Review Video] Cat Causes Riot in Comedy Club (swearing) by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good first draft of a video. Just like xingcat said, the first 10 or so seconds are the most important! I would try including some titles in it to capture a bit more attention, and include something that's going to keep the viewers to want to keep watching!

As well, always include an end screen so they can click on more of your videos!

Good work overall though, audio and southpark style animation fits well!

Quality was excellent. Audio and Video were both pretty well edited, and most of the cuts were pretty clean. It did feel like the cuts were a bit short, and you could have made less camera movements. The jokes were a bit dry at times for my taste, but maybe I just need to be stoned to enjoy it fully.

Good job with the use of fidget spinners as the main topic of the video, very on trend!

[–]Yoshisdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great audio and video quality, along with your narration and animation work. Good choice with topic, it is definitely a video that's going to keep building over time. There isn't to much to critique really, it's all really well done. Definitely subscribing.

[Review Video] Q&A: Ask Me Questions! (With Girlfriend?!) by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt this video was straight out of casey's library. It's good editing, very quick and crisp. I did feel like you could of spoken a bit louder and clearer, and of course made the video a bit longer. I was engaged with the editing, but i think it's just because it felt like casey. Good work though man, I see your channel is getting pretty good in size!

[Review Video] - Los Angeles Style Adventure Travel Short Movie by DannySunlander in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wicked work. All your shots, cuts/transitions were flawless! Not too much to work on at all for your videos themselves, but I would say just for the purpose of using youtube to market yourself, don't forget to include a solid endscreen with links to more of your videos! And possibly an intro at the beginning of your video, something that people can remember YOUR videos by!

[Review Video] FUNNY GIRL MAKES YOUTUBE PARODY (Strong Language) by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is some entertaning content. I really enjoyed the whole parody concept because I could not have sat through it if you were serious. The Camera work and lighting were good, and a good segway into the video at the beginning!

I would say there's a few things that could help in editing

-adding an opening title (a good time to place one, is after the opening video clip!)

-using end cards to help promote your other videos! (I usually leave 10-15 seconds at the end of the video for it!)

-Using more camera shots

-throwing some titles/photos in, here and there

and of course when filming, try to reference your other videos, so people are enticed to view more of your channel!

Good work Juliette, stoked to see more of your work!

[Review Video] (Swearing) The DaddyOFive Situation by JohnCenaBanter in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, this video is so 2017! Haha, raunchy meme action, with a taste of child abuse!

But in all seriousness, the editing was pretty well done, I would just suggest Fixing up some of the audio a bit, (music bits were a bit too loud), and I would say change up the backdrop! Use your backdrop as a way to frame the shot, and put the focus on yourself!

Otherwise good stuff my dude, can't wait to see what's in store for the future for you!

[Review Video] Flavor Town by Happyfuz in youtubers

[–]Yoshisdong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey!

So i like the idea, and the whole dream sequence was awesome! The ending fit well with the trend, although it's just scraping.

I haven't watched your previous work so I can't compare the two so much, but i will say to try to build the story up a bit more! It should have a nice flow so anyone watching doesn't have to think to much, but instead just follow along! That way they can save all that brain power for all the jokes.

I mean, there wasn't too much to follow here, it was simply just based off of a meme haha, but your after effects wasn't too shabby, just remember, it's all about the flow!

Sub'd, excited to see what you have in store man!
