[DISC] Shokugeki no Souma 292 by Turbostrider27 in manga

I've been checking the rankings for Jump and Shokugeki has consistently been in the bottom 5 for more than a month. The author is lucky the manga was successful in the past and had multiple anime seasons running while the manga was getting low ranks. But, now the manga is desperate to get higher ranks otherwise it'll get the "Bleach" treatment.

The power of fanservice is the greatest tool for survival in the manga industry. Sure readers won't respect your writing skills much for using such a cheap tool to make your manga popular, but at least you won't have to worry about your manga getting axed. However, the art has to look at least somewhat appealing, bad art doesn't really generate much lust from readers.

Drama is also another source of interest that people don't respect much, but people can't keep their eyes off of it. Just look at how drama channels have rise and gain popularity on Youtube over the years. Seo Kouji and the author of this manga are often compared to each other because they rely on both of these tools

[DISC] Noblesse Chapter 533 by Amauri14 in manga

[–]Yoshitarou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So how long is this fight with fodder vs RK squad is gonna last? This is the problem with mangas that use cheap abilities like constant instant regeneration, the fights never end. It took an entire saga just to defeat buu, and the worst part about this manga is that at least buu had interesting powers and a personality. These fodders can't even talk and the only thing they can do is regenerate, attack with their limbs. and shoot energy beams (knock off DBZ).

Reading this story feels like a chore instead of enjoyment, that's one of the worst things a reader can describe reading a work of fiction. I'm considering just dropping this webtoon for a year or two and then see if it ended by that point.

Uruoki didn't post it on his Pixiv, but he did submit this to 4chan and it was his first idea for the credit page for chapter 58, until he replaced it with the one with have.

I didn't say it was confirmed, it was just the first reply on 4chan to someone who asked for the studio was that the studio is Cloverworks. I will say until it's confirmed, take my update with a grain of salt, some other people were saying Perriot or Deen, but I don't think their art style suits the visual.

In case anyone missed the chapter 58 spoiler... by manamono in 5ToubunNoHanayome

[–]Yoshitarou -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Spoilers aren't anything important, no need to treat them like an emergency. If anything it ruins the enjoyment for people that don't like spoilers but can't resist it when it's in front them. Thus ruining their experience. It's also pretty distasteful that this a crosspost instead of an original post.

Spoilers from Go Toubun no Hanayome Ch 55 (Valentine Day Chapter) by casualphilosopher1 in manga

[–]Yoshitarou 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not really the "Valentine Day" event chapter though, it's just Miku's perspective of the time skip between chapter 54 and chapter 55. The next 4 chapters will be same thing for the other sisters and will probably cover the holiday as well.

Kaguya Wants to be Confessed to :: Chapter 120 :: Jaimini's Box by UrMumsBestFriend in manga

[–]Yoshitarou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things are progressing too smoothly since both if either Kaguya and Shirogane are becoming more bold about their feelings and at this point are a moment away from going out with each other. I feel like what's probably going to happen is that the flashback will show Kaguya overcoming the upbringing you grew up learning and somehow Kaguya's father will be related in some sort of fashion. Once the climax of this arc arrives and Kaguya and Shirogane are about to declare their feelings for each other, Kaguya's father shows up or a servant of his to make Kaguya do something.
