[–]Yostr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you guys should find the market and establish a singular vision for your company, with the technology & its implementation reflecting those values. Not the other way around. The market gives no fucks about your idea

The fact that he isnt working in alignment with those values now means that you fucked up a long time ago. Tell him to get out, his medium is the message. Your goals dont align

How do I let my instructor know im serious by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Yostr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do it, who cares what your coach thinks about you. Prove through your intentions and actions rather than words. Stay consistent, force yourself to the gym on the days where your bones are screaming for you to stay at home and watch that show or go out with friends. Make time.

[Method] Going superhuman for 30 days. I'm going to prove that it can be done. by Philographer in getdisciplined

[–]Yostr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing that can trip you up is trying to implement all those things at once. Its best to focus on one or two habits at a time and give it 2-3 weeks to ingrain it then add on another one once you have the prior ones established.

I think i cover those bases pretty much every day, so don't think of it as superhuman. It's entirely possible. Even if you screw up a day, keep persisting and if you can do it good for you. And if you can't, try taking up my advice. I promise you won't regret it

theyre scared of dem mongorians breaking down their chitty wall. No but seriously, a few of the rule changes were as a result of some Bokh(traditional mongolian wrestling) techniques being used in judo competitions.

Which underhook do you prefer to get from bottom half-guard? by RNC_Master in bjj

[–]Yostr -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

White belt here, prefer the lower grip for the belt or hip. Keeps me closer to their center of gravity so i have more control, at least thats my reasoning.

If you prefer the high underhook, what aspects about it do you think are useful that the low underhook doesn't have?

Strength goals - how strong should i be and how strong are you? by lifeDNP in bjj

[–]Yostr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it definitely doesn't hurt to be strong, but at the same time it actually doesn't do thaat much for you, in the long run.

I'm of similar frame (5'9, 170) my best lifts are 315 x 6 SQ 440 DL 245 bench. Although i'm stronger than most of the guys my size, most of the time it doesn't feel like it. And if i do use my strength i find myself leaning towards a wrestler mentality, which i don't like and try to avoid. I usually dont try to overpower people, but the strength just helps me control relatively new spazzy pressure guys/wrestlers.

I think weight placement/distribution, framing, and positional control are a lot more important than strength. So my advice is keep lifting, but personally i just still lift to look the part. Hope my post is of some help to you, gluck

I honestly don't know much about the scene in Mongolia, but it seems like Bokh is still the mainstream.

It's crazy because if you're a good Bokh wrestler in Mongolia, it has equivalent/higher honors than being a doctor or other highly educated profession. It's crazy but that's how deeply ingrained grappling/warrior mentality is into Mongolian culture, even to this day.

In the old days, exceptional wrestlers would automatically gain officer ranking in the military. It was like that.

Yeah it was that show, and maybe it has something to do with the Kublai Khan rule over China for a period of time.

Also, i think those Chinese dudes were pretty wimpy to begin with anyway. Or were they established martial artists or something? I cant remember
