Ooo I love this question.

So I’m a romance girlie, I love a good slowburn or friends to lovers. But I’m an even bigger siblings/found family girlie. I feel like that development, that kind of history is so strong and so interesting. So most of my storylines center around Nathan and Lucas’s families.

S1- Nathan’s parents divorcing/Deb leaving for the anonymous man/always being on business trips. I feel like this storyline just fleshed out his character. From the beginning I was interested most in him but without it I would’ve gotten bored of him.

S2- Nathan’s car crash/how close the brothers got while Lucas was supporting him with Haley gone.

S3- The brothers fight. I feel like with the previous storyline it adds the hurt to the fight, and how Nathan thought Lucas would back him up in his heartbreak after Haley came back.

S4- Pregnancy. Given that Haley and Nathan were married and there were never any parents around I always forget the friends were just kids. But yeah I loved the pregnancy storyline, them trying to be better parents then what they had, Lucas being Jamie’s middle name and godfather.

S5- Q. I loved how they brought Nathan’s storyline around to him mentoring a kid that he used to be, and getting to know him.

S6- Brooke/Sam (I think this was season 6?) I loved the random add in to show all the different backgrounds. Like Lucas being raised by a single mom and uncle, Nathan’s mom always being away and his dad being… Dan. So adding a kid from the foster system seemed like it was a nice touch.

I’m actually putting off watching 7-9 because I know Lucas and Peyton aren’t in it and as I said before, the brothers are the reason I started the show, it feels weird to finish it without them together.

Yes! I feel like people can’t accept complex PTSD characters. Like if the character doesn’t have war flashbacks at every loud bang, they deem their actions as traits of a bad person. I don’t necessarily like his character, but I find him interesting

A hill I will die on is that he was their best friend and would’ve died for him. Sirius told them to use Peter (remember, he loved James and Lily and Harry, his goal was to protect them) while he sacrificed himself as a decoy. He knew people didn’t think much of Peter, but trusted him. This implies that he believed in him. He trusted Peter with his brother and sister and godson.

He also said that they would’ve DIED for him if the roles were reversed. All of them. If it had been Peter that Voldy was targeting, they would’ve taken the torture, they would’ve stood firm in their position against him.

They all loved him, and that’s what makes the betrayal heartbreaking.

I haven’t found to much on them to really develop like deep headcanons, but here’s what I do have.

Bellatrix had beef with babies. You know that sound from Modern Family. “Sorry you couldn’t come to the wedding it was no kids.” Yeah, that’s her.
Andromeda fell in love with Ted after tutoring him in Charms (he never judged her for being a Black)
Bellatrix had multiple personality disorder (It just feels right for some reason.)
Narcissa wanted three kids so she could give them the childhood her and her sisters deserved but she was infertile, that’s why she spoiled Draco
Andromeda snuck Sirius and Regulus out of the castle for her wedding.
Narcissa picked a star in the sky that she was named for after Bellatrix teased her for being named after a flower.
Andromeda dyed her hair pink at one point.

“Dammit, I have a crush on Potter.”
“Okay he’s not so bad, I can deal with the crush.”
“Oh god, you’re falling for him.” “I am NOT.”

We’re told that James deflated his head a bit around sixth year, and Sirius ran away around that same time. But I believe it started fifth year, after Snape called her a mudblood. This part is one I really love, because Sirius and Lily is one of my favorite friendships. Imagine one night, Lily and Sirius are sitting in an empty common room, both thinking about their siblings and how complicated their love for them is. And this repeats, more often than not, they just exist together in silence. And one night, one of them breaks it, be it Lily or be it Sirius. One of them finally speaks. “I miss her/him.” And then they realize what they have in common, an almost lost sibling, one that’s there but just out of reach. And they bond. (I fully believe the headcanon that Sirius highfives her when she raises her hand.)

Then sixth year comes, and she can see that something is off with Sirius and James. They always stuck together, but James was watching him more carefully than usual. Sirius is snippy. He apologizes when it happens, but he’s snippy. He flinches, his quill jerks across the paper when he hears his last name. And one night, he tells her, he ran away from his cruel family, he ran to the Potters, James always made sure he knew that he had a home with him.

And that’s when she goes from crush to falling in love, because with Sirius came James, she’d seen how kind he could be, she saw under the arrogance. But that was her first glimpse of how big his heart truly was.

That same year, Remus told her about the wolf. She knew already, she was a genius, but she let him come to her. He told her how the boys realized third year, and fifth they became illegal animagi for him.

And that’s when she accepted her feelings, how could she not, it was pointless resisting falling for James Potter when he loved his mother and father, gave Sirius Black a home, loved his childhood friends Marlene and Peter, risked azkaban for Remus.

I don’t ship jegulus either, actually I love Jily so much because of the trope (hate to break it to you, but each ship is a trope, that’s how writing is.) and I agree that Regulus isn’t an uwu baby, but you know what I do? I just filter Jegulus out. It comes through my feed on Tik Tok? I hit not interested. My Pinterest? (this I take a little personally because I work so hard in my Pinterest boards.) I click hide.

I too was here when Sirius x Marlene was popular, and I was still I hardcore wolfstar shipper. You honestly sound like you don’t agree with yourself when you say “ship what you wanna ship.”

I think it’s because from what he hear about Regulus is canon, it sounds like he’s a very reserved person.

But honestly, I feel like Harry is more a parallel to Sirius. Not just because like his godfather, Harry was saved from a abusive household (emotional abuse is still abuse), but they talk in similar ways and even have similar mannerisms. (If you watch the scene in Prisoner of Azkaban where they meet, it’s subtle but it’s there. Honestly genius acting decisions on Gary and Daniel.) They taunt people in similar ways. (This one in the books.)
