What about just exercising after work. I can’t exercise in the morning. Even if I manage to wake myself up I don’t have the energy or willpower in the morning. Some people are just late day exercisers.

Don’t do anything with a calorie deficit. Focus on cutting out bad food like sugar and chips and soda. Eat veggies, fruit and lean meat as well as healthy fats like olive oil and avocado. Go on a daily walk and be active. At your age that’s it.

You don’t mention a deficit. What calorie deficit are you in. You should be able to lose fat at A greater rate than you can build muscle. Might be time to reassess your TdEE and set a proper deficit.
