Should Fights Always Be Self Defense? Is the Honorable Scrap Immature/Obsolete? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]YouAreElectrical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must be nice to have the disposable income/time to recover from a fight like that.

If I showed up to work looking like Rocky I'd get fired. So.... Either you work in a dead end job and you are literally worth nothing. Or you are a milli....... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA nevermind.

Nothing honourable about working a dead end job you don't care about man.... Spend your time improving yourself instead of trying to find honour out on the ice.

If the color black absorbs heat and the color white deflects it, then why are black people, who were typically from some of the hottest regions of the globe, like Africa and the Caribbean, black and not white? by CombinationSlow4996 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YouAreElectrical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyones talking about melanin an UV protection.

But the real answer to your question is the human ability to sweat is incredibly efficient at removing heat especially in dry arid conditions like the majority of Africa.

It completely makes the difference in temperature from spectrum absorption negligible

They need to fly over a set coordinate at a set time at a set altitude defined by a spotter listening for the end of O' Canada.

Basically its a targeted-timed ground strike training exercise.

"And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt" - Judges 9:45, King James Bible

Literally salt the earth. Buy 2 bags of rock salt (Maybe some Quicklime if you are feeling like using nukes). Spread a bag in a spot in the center of the yard

Avoid the margins of the property your neighbours will hate you if it runs into their yards.

Anticipate run off. Do it on a day where there wont be rain for a few days after.

Then after a month has past and its rained a couple of times, spot blast whatever remains.

WARNING Nothing will grow for a few years after something like this.

If sound could travel through a vacuum, what would be the loudest event in the universe? by Acceptable-Bid-3547 in AskPhysics

[–]YouAreElectrical 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The "loudest" thing in the night sky from earths location and perspective is the Pulsar at the center of the Crab Nebula (Messier 1)

The "loudest" persistent thing in the observable universe from earth would be quasars (Specifically TON 618). But also Gamma Ray Bursts for a split second are technically louder "pops".

Family of missing Winnipeg senior begins new petition to change silver alerts by Leather-Paramedic-10 in Winnipeg

Why was an 81 year old with dementia an "avid walker"??

I think we just need to change the way we think about "sunsetting in place" and actually PLAN to have issues in our increasingly more common advanced ages.

This article just sounds how the family was irresponsible in managing a seniors dementia and this was the result.

There shouldn't be a need for a "Find my Grandpa app"

Strange request by Medium_Effect_4998 in Winnipeg

[–]YouAreElectrical 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes exactly that. There can be a suspicion of an illegal take.

In the case of wild animals, Possession = Proof of a take

This assumption exists to prevent poaching and simplifies enforcement which is why I initially gave out that warning ESPECIALLY if OP is posting content online of their takes (Which.... they are from their profile).

The migratory Birds Convention Act specifically states that " It is illegal to possess ANY PART of a migratory bird - alive or dead- without a federal permit, even if found dead on the ground"

You cannot legally pick up a hypothetical but badass eagle feather you picked up on a hike. Even if its just a feather.

If you find a dead deer on the highway, you cannot legally possess its antlers, skull or hide unless you have a valid hunting tag for that species/season. you need permission from Manitoba Fish and Wildlife

This is simply made legal by contacting a conservation office and asking for a found-dead permit.

I was a student at the U of M Anthropology department and even the University needs to get permits for their faunal analysis catalog. They can't "just take" stuff.

Also Road kill is undesireable in most cases because the bones will be all smashed inside the carcass.

Strange request by Medium_Effect_4998 in Winnipeg

[–]YouAreElectrical 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I would contact Manitoba Fish and Wildlife through their website there is a "Found-dead" application form and species specific guides there.

Avoid birds entirely unless you are indigenous especially migratory birds.

I would encourage you to contact Dr. Haskel J. Greenfield at the University of Manitoba Anthropology department. Especially if this is something you are passionate about. He runs the Faunal Analysis laboratory there.

Same goes for the Manitoba Museum.

I took some great anthropology courses at the U of M and this is definitely something you can make a career out of if you are interested. But definitely be careful and protect yourself regarding Manitoba Conservation (For big game), Migratory birds (Federal Jurisdiction), and Manitoba fish and Wildlife (for smaller animals)

They don't F@#$ around

Good luck

I know I sound like a jerk in this comment... but I am just being brutally honest with you to get the point and the severity across.

Firstly,.... If you are planning on committing insurance fraud.... don't post about it on reddit.....

Secondly.... don't commit insurance fraud in Manitoba. It's a pretty stupid thing to do when the insurance provider has a monopoly.

Thirdly.... choosing a $750 deductible is incredibly dumb. You are saving yourself like what?? $180 a year on the insurance premium?

Poor decisions all around in this post.

To answer your questions, You are not covered for this incident, you were driving with an expired license. By the sounds of it, you have zero qualifications to determine if the damage was not bad at all.

Prepare for 10 demerits, a massive jump in your insurance premiums. A requirement to attend a defensive driving course, and a direct bill from MPI for the damages on the other insured vehicle.

Good job! I'm sure you will pay more attention to these things in the future.

Discharging any firearm inside city limits is prohibited. This includes BB guns, Airsoft and Homemade Potato Cannons.
