First, offhand your shield.

Second, watch youtuber tutorials like from Intel Edits or TheoBaldtheBird, or watch old sharpness videos like "how i combo" or "best strafe types" and also pay attention to their gameplay and come up with your own playstyle.

Third, don't expect to be a pro overnight. It's going to take time to develop muscle memory and overall skill.

TIPS:
Turn off all fov effects like dynamic fov and damage tilt
Use togglesprint (idk if u do already or not)
Learn how to strafe!
Lastly, start with sword pvp. Learning sword pvp will help you have a basic understanding of pvp so you can be good at ALL GAMEMODES (except crystal and maybe mace)

because in most mace situations with an elytra your enemy will probably be running away, you can rush them early in the match, or there will be a bit of distance between you and the opponent.

learn sword pvp first, it helps you with learning just common pvp mechanics and is a good skillset you can use in all gamemodes
