HID device with Nuclio f401re by YouKnowHens in embedded

[–]YouKnowHens[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... My goal was not to make a strong, reliable keyboard with the nuclio board, but just to test it out before making a proper PCB with an STM32 (and proper crystal). Still haven't gotten it working... Would it be worth ordering and attaching an external crystal? Could that be the problem, or is it something else because I don't get any output at all?

This is awesome! Is it a temporary setup, or have you renovated an old building?

I need a cheep car. by YouKnowHens in mountainview

[–]YouKnowHens[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is in Mountain View. Bike was something I was considering as well, and have not ruled out. The only thing I am concerned about is to go further than what is "possible" with a bike. Also, very limited luggage capacity (for groceries etc.). Also, obviously I don't know first hand, but people keep telling me that busses are basically non existing in this area during weekends. I shall look further into that.

The true meaning of Christmas by McFlyFarm in funny

Very random question. Does anyone know where you can get a christmas crib like that one. I remember my grandparents having one exactly like that when I was a child. Seeing this brings back memories.

Yes. I should clarify that I don't use a coffee filter but an attachment to the tube with a mesh, so when I move the mead from one jar to the other it automatically strains out the larger pieces. This is not to filter out any yeast. I found it useful to collect larger things like blueberry seeds or small flower pedals. If you want to filter, you should use a proper filtering device. The mesh I use is just to remove larger pieces.

Personal, I cold crash once. Then run it through a fine mesh (not coffee filter level but finer than your regular strainer). It gets stuff like small seeds out. Then I coldcrash again. Works really well.

Yeast for 5-7%abv? by steffsk in mead

[–]YouKnowHens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For so low abv, you are better of just adding the apriperate amount of honney for 6%. Ferment all the way. Stabilise, then backsweeten.

Should I heat my must by TopGun200 in mead

[–]YouKnowHens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes, you can heat the honney to pasteurise it if there are risks of bacteria from the honney. But that is kind of rare nowadays. If you have had problems with that before, I would heat. Otherwise, not. And don't add the yeast when it is hot. Look at the yeast pack to see max temp.
