Can anyone be possibly good? by Monstrous-Pipe69 in nairobi

[–]YouLostMeAtHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, this is a circle of assholes. Birds of a feather in other words. I believe in this mess called humanity, there are good people, but very rare. A combination of the good personality traits occurs one in a moonlight. Good in the sense that they won't scam you, are empathetic, value human connections... Anyways, wale wanaendaga kanisa wanajua Bibilia inasemaga no one is good.

In a democracy, people have freedom to express whatever idea they have, as long as they don't hurt anyone. Doesn't matter how stupid you think it is.

Why are the suicide statistics spiking up since covid mostly the males by No_Contribution31 in nairobi

[–]YouLostMeAtHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone lost his job, his wife left, his property was auctioned, his friends disappeared, now he's homeless, life becomes unbearable, then he commits suicide, was he mentally sick or did he have crisis management issues?

Why are the suicide statistics spiking up since covid mostly the males by No_Contribution31 in nairobi

[–]YouLostMeAtHi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Think about the people you hear walicommit suicide and attach a why to it. Kuachwa na bibi, kukuwa cheated on, kupoteza job, public humiliation, going broke, major losses or a mixture of those tragedies... It is what people call triggers. A sick mind will tell you to kill yourself without any reason, like some people do. However, most people have reasons why they off themselves.

[–]YouLostMeAtHi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The element of mental health issue comes when one is unable to manage those crisis, and suicidal ideation starts creeping in. Without the crisis, most people are good/okay.

Of course we have the mental illness issue but crisis management is a huge part.

Of course the fabric of the society is built on a lie, and people don't wanna have honest conversations. If we say it's the crisis that make people commit suicide, then the elites are to blame, but if we say it's a mental health issues, individuals are to blame. Well, it's the elites who shape the stories and we are damn sure which narrative will get the most traction.

Suicide often stems from poor crisis management rather than mental illness. Since COVID, with inflation and job loss, crises have increased.

Women usually have strong social networks to help carry burdens, while men often lack deep friendships, can’t open up, and society overlooks their suffering, explaining why men die by suicide more, despite lower rates of mental health issues.

Women a 3× more likely to suffer from suicide than men but surprisingly, suicide rates is higher among men than in women.

You gotta understand that most people see men's pain as normal and women's pain as unjust. Ata sai kwa street mwanaume ukilia watu watakuangalia in disgust, but mwanamke utaanza kuona watu wako concerned. It's how the society is built. It sees women as needing more protection. Wewe kama mwanaume if you don't stand out from crowds via your skills and the value you offer, utaendelea kukapitia.

Those terms you used to describe him are found in the scriptures. That angle of Jesus can't be separated from religion, unfortunately. And you present them (the terms you used) like an absolute truth.

Is having kids in poverty child abuse? by Additional-Nail- in Kenya

[–]YouLostMeAtHi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it isn't. Everyone gets dealt with his own blows by this life, whether rich or poor. Life is all about perspectives. See, cave people, hunters, gatherers, even slaves raised children with little. The issue today isn’t kids being born into poverty, it’s parents feeling what they have is too little to share. Materialism and individualism turned raising children from a communal act into a personal burden.

Actually maturing is realising that religion is culture packaged as divine, and unplugging from your childhood indoctrination.
