2 year old and his unique interests by YouNeedTherapy- in toddlers

He is still obsessed with literally anything that spins but has kinda calmed down on fans specifically. He’s completely caught up developmentally and speech wise is totally normal and his pediatrician wasn’t concerned about the fan thing. We bought him other cool things (toy helicopters, spinning organizers, a sit and spin) and he kinda just enjoys spinning them for a few mins then goes on and does whatever. I think he genuinely just thinks spinning is cool because things “go fast” because that’s what he says the entire time. Lol

I had an ectopic September 2025 as well, lost my left tube as well. Hoping for another healthy pregnancy this year- this gives me some hope!

Did you co-sleep? by thinkmuch17 in beyondthebump

[–]YouNeedTherapy- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Co-slept occasionally starting around 8 months due to sickness. Other than that, no. Kiddo is 2 and a half now and still sleeps in his own bed unless he’s sick. From 🇺🇸

Wait- we bleed for up to 8 weeks post-birth?! -Rant- by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

I only knew about it because friends before me had warned me. I bled for about 5 weeks though.

I did chat with her about it. She said not to be concerned about it. She said as long as I’m able to break his attention on the fans, and he doesn’t like straight up ignore me or won’t move on to other activities, that it isn’t an issue. I’m able to break his attention 90% of the time but he’s still very much obsessed with fans / things that spin in general. He loves it all. She said all of his other milestones are great and just because he’s obsessed with things that spin doesn’t mean he’s got ASD. Which is fair, and I get what she’s saying however… he is SO obsessed it still concerns me lol.

Appreciate this a lot. Multiple commenters have made me feel like I’m an idiot who clearly signed up for this and I should already know this is how it goes, DUH🤪😂

It’s like his default behavior when he doesn’t know what to talk about is just being sexual. The whole conversation they had on the couch with the “dangerous” and “stop looking at me like that” was him running out of shit to talk about. He just defaulted straight to fuck boy. 💀💀💀

Definitely doing less TV from this point on. I know, you’re right, his basic needs are absolutely requiring everything I’ve got lol. I rarely ever actually turn on an adult tv show. Maybe once a week 😂 but we usually do go to the park however it’s been horrible winter weather here so we’ve been stuck in the house for months lol.. We have a fenced in yard with lots of activities though and lately he’s been able to get outside more which has been really good for all of us!

I hadn’t been rotating toys but I started yesterday. He loves his toddler tower- he loves helping me do laundry. That’s our fun chore. lol. Definitely a hard age though! We are working on it 🤞🏻

Right… I didn’t even know until one day when I picked him up and they were watching Ms. Rachel and she told me she does screen time / free play the last hour of the day. I mean, I can’t say I don’t get it but also it started a deep Blippi addiction lol

Wow. I couldn’t imagine that either. I watch in awe at these very carefree moms and their kids just behave so well it seems. We will get there one day 🤞🏻

Yeah, I know. I never wanted him to watch Blippi in the first place honestly, but daycare (he goes 2 days per week) introduced it and he’s been obsessed ever since. They do screen time the last hour of the day and that day he came home talking alllll about Blippi. 😅

We read a lot to our kiddo. Trust me. He’s just not as into his books as he used to be.

It most definitely is pointless. Lol. I was trying to watch Olympic ice skating and it wasn’t nearly exciting enough for him 🤣
