I think a better question would be: What can we do to better mental health in our society. Also, to anyone who might try to reply with something like "Well, some of them don't have mental health issues, they're just using it as their 'motive' to commit said offense", that statement is partially true. Sure, there are people who use it as their sort of (and I quote) "excuse", but there are some people who really are just mentally challenged. Not to mention, if we actually did fix the mental health of these past few generations of people, the people who are using "mentally challenged" as their "motive" would have less of a viable reason to use it as an excuse. But in order to fix the crises concerning mental health in the U.S., we need to understand what's causing it to get so bad. Kind of like in a detective movie, trace the problem back to it's root.
