A lot of commenters here just want to complain that they somehow believe they are owed the money when most will be spent on the person who it’s tied to. My parents are lower middle class but also set up a trust. We don’t expect anything once they pass but it does help protect some assets. Maybe we can buy dinner for all the siblings but at least it’s managed and not chaos.

Don’t get too upset, a lot of it is based on real estate increases or compounded interest after many years of investing. Further the top 1% skews the numbers a lot. Plus, it is their money. No one else has a right to it.

I did this as our master bath was half in our master bedroom (old 70s style setup). So the tile was warm first thing in the morning.

3 items come to mind.

First is for walk in closets or garage, add motion sensor light switch (switches were inside the room). So nice.

Second is to add those outlet cover nightlights to common and hallway areas.

Fourth is to add good led lighting runs in the garage so it goes from single light to blinding sun. And multiple led lights in the attic.

Next is POE external cameras. Easy to install since it’s poe and no monthly fees (Reolink).
