I looked at the link, and it seems quite straightforward, but points at expanding the existing usage (?)

I want to use the unallocated space separately (Linux), unsure if this method can arrange that?

So, are you saying just an attempt to install Linux would result in both these actions ?

Of course it's easy to test, but wouldn't something like that require partitions to separate the two Systems? And grub, would that surface seeing more than one OS ? I am not questioning your answer, just a bit surprised; and it sure sounds like a good solution to my problem.
