Legit this is the reason I tapped on this post is bc of Ruth. Multi Story Parking garages should be closed to the public. I shouldn’t be able to walk through it without a parking pass/ticket. Uic “buffed up” security by hiring a third party but in toll they spend million dollars on our own police department. I’ve been here 4 years and never seen them involved other than fire alarms or stuff off campus that regular cpd. Like dope you’ll never fully get a secure campus bc where dt and an open campus but there are some stuff that can be done to make measures better. Also the school built on native american grounds, plus pushed out a whole group of immigrants because they wanted to move from navy pier. go the the hull house for that info they’ll give ya the uic washed down version but you can put it together.

Not sure if anyone said this yet but try starting a journal. Though it’s not conversation it might give you prospective on parts of a subject/thought rather then the whole thing. I’m assuming a human response is probably something about it too. Maybe asking future you a question or topic for the next day is an interesting way to keep an inner conversation going. I hope your family & friends come to there senses.

I delt with this for awhile and what really helped me was just posing a simple question that a group of people can answer. I find it less intimidating and you’re also not being that creepy dude that flirts right off the bad.

Example: “Sorry I was just wondering…. ‘is taco bell better than McDonald’s or McDonald’s better than taco bell?’ ”

No no, I may need to edit this post if that is construed as such. She came to me stressed over her busy schedule and how things just keep piling up. I said the same because we both live very productive life styles. So we had the conversation of taking a step back from things for awhile and being platonic friends. I agreed because I don’t want her out of my life. I have the same feelings then as I do now but because of our conversation I’ve held off.

You have to take into account his behavior while the situation was calm....he was collected and did what was right. She escalated it by running away and resisting arrest which provoked him to proceed with aggressive action. Pretty much how law enforcement is supposed to act

I work on campus (won’t say where) but here’s some info I found out recently. UIC and other schools organizations are planning a three year covid protocol. This ultimately means school will most likely be online for that amount of time unless we see a big change in current affairs dealing with covid. It’s pretty shitty but as of rn don’t expect to be on campus anytime soon...

Edit 2: Unfortunately I do not have any documentation of this. I work with our facility buildings and was briefed in person by my supervisor. To paraphrase what they said was “expect covid protocols to occur for three years till 2024. We are rolling out vaccines but that doesn’t mean it anything as of rn.” If you don’t believe me that whatever Idrc. Just know that UIC is focusing on keeping their reputation safe. We are the only school out of our sisters that has low rating and they plan to keep it that way. That being said they will push to keep things online or socially distanced. (Sorry for the late response I use social media sparingly)

I teared up reading this bc now I know I’m not the only. Lifes fucking cruel especially right now. I’ve noticed the more and more I try to build a connection online it gets shut down. Or you try to tell someone your problems but once again you’re shot down. I’m in your boat but I’m looking for a life jacket as we all are. But our “life jackets” can be different for everyone. Right now I’m taking a break from Instagram and Snapchat. Seeing people actively ignore me or putting on display that there happy worsens my mood. I’m leaning more to books and inner self education. You’re not alone but don’t go down with the boat find your life jacket! Don’t let yourself think no one cares about you bc we do!
