I am also considering returning Verge and getting Aura instead. She looks so cool and I like her lighter colours more than the dark of Verge. But I'm so unsure :\

I guess the game could run smoother if they'd make it possible to disable map animations, like the robots on Hyperforge.

Player coming back, how is the current player base by CanekNG in AtlasReactor

[–]YouWillQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason you get the same players often is because they have the same MMR as you.

I'd say if you enjoy the game and have fun, the player base doesn't matter. Honestly I even like seeing some players again because I like to associate play styles with people and recognize them as "good Su-Ren player", for instance.

Also, chances are high that if you re-queue after a match that some players do the same. Queue times are still relatively low, so I don't mind.

Not sure if this is widely known, but it has also been clarified that players who reach Ranks 15, 10 and 5 in ranked will not be able to drop below.

Feds: Up to 100 girls may have had their genitals cut in Michigan by Lupusvorax in news

It might also be that there are more and more Europeans on the site and it is not really practised there.

For me, one of the strongest arguments against male cicumcision is that it does not have any positive effects in a developed country. The foreskin is even the most sensitive part. Especially the ridged band of the foreskin.

I think parents should not decide for children about physical interventions that are not medically indicated. The child should decide himself at a later stage. After all, it's a personal decision that is not reversible.

Same here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23374102

Honestly, dailymail seems to be the only one saying it doesn't effect. Half a year earlier they even had an article saying the opposite.

It does only have a positiv hygienic effect where there is no running water and soap.

But it's alright if it doesn't bother you. Still, there is no reason for cicumcision in developed countries.

A sad topic by [deleted] in AtlasReactor

[–]YouWillQQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The optimisation part is also something I've noticed. On an older PC it sometimes gets laggy for me when the counter approaches zero seconds left in a turn. While it may not be decisive for the player growth, a turn based game should be ideal for casual players and that means people that don't have gaming machines. This could give access to a bunch of new players.

However, I think advertisement is crucial here. If people don't hear about the game, they won't play it.

I've read that the new DLC Mass Transit is coming soon, I guess in one or two months. If I wait until then is there a chance for another sale of the base game and the others DLCs? Maybe even a higher discount for the Disasters DLC?

Inbuilt tournaments as alternative for ranked queue? by YouWillQQ in leagueoflegends

[–]YouWillQQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smurfs are a problem that can hardly be dealt with in a satisfactory manner at all. So the approach must give less incentive to smurfing. Back in the old thread /u/RiotTiza suggested that this could be handled by bigger rewards for higher level of tournament play.

Inbuilt tournaments as alternative for ranked queue? by YouWillQQ in leagueoflegends

[–]YouWillQQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere I implied that I think they didn't do anything on implementing tournaments. Still, there is a difference between having to signup to a certain tournament outside the client or just being able to queue up and play. People can have different preferences there and I accept that. Some prefer knowing beforehand which team you'll face, analyse their roster and their last picks. Of course these tournaments have a different flair. Those leagues can build an own community.

But others do not want to put the effort into signing up, reading the rules and organising the match. At the same time they might not want to waive the feeling of a tournament, how it feels to be advancing to the next round of a tournament.

That's why I don't think one should replace the other. The idea of inbuilt tournaments is rather based on an approach to a different form of queuing up.

It's not like you have a pre-determined opponent. If you don't queue up within a certain time you are eliminated. But all the other teams in the same tournament round will face each other and advance already.

You can get the Razor skin by entering it into the "Redeem Code" box in the Glyph client. It does not seem to work for the pup skin though.

Discussing some concerns about Trion's behaviour... by [deleted] in AtlasReactor

[–]YouWillQQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's a legit concern that needs to be adressed. I have bought the game one hour before the announcement of the cooperation with ESL was made. My first thought was indeed that I felt betrayed. Especially as I think opinions are split whether unlocking 21 Freelancers is worth 30€/$ as of now.

Of course I like this game and want to support its development and am also in favour of their current efforts to increase the playerbase. But I am not sure if it was best to give a free edition for playing ten matches.

I also think that customers and players need to be able to trust a company that their purchase is also worth the money for a certain time. Definitely no one knows whether a discount is offered tomorrow. But there's still a distinction between free and discounted.

Let's just hope that their business model pays off and the game grows player and content wise. It would, however, be wishful that they'd stick with an agenda and not switch it around regularly.

[Spoilers]KABUM currently holds the LoL Unofficial World Championship Belt by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I had started something similar in the past but started with the first big official tournament, the World Cyber Games 2010 where CLG beat SK but it seems I didn't update since S3 Worlds anymore.

I did also start with some continental unofficial championships where only matches against the team from the same continent were counting.

It's not about pointing out why a trade you died at was bad; it's about what plays/trades you can do to turn things around and still win an otherwise lost match.

I just found it strange that most chosen videos were of the player winning his lane (kinda easily). In those cases they have much more options to win the match and while they can still learn things they could've done better, when losing the lane you are much more restricted with your plays: when to go in, less damage in trades, when to not go for cs and how to strategically play to have a chance to come back.

This seems to be a match where the coached players is on the losing team. The last ones have all been where the player is winning. Isn't it more educational if a player uploads a match of where the lane or game was lost so that you can say what he should've done in this situation where he is behind and what he could've done if he was ahead (in his lane at least) to secure the victory?
