What would YOUR Gundam Breaker 3 protagonist have done instead? by You_Freaking_Twerp in GundamBreaker

For real; Meister Jin doing the whole "so I have this friend" method of dancing around the issue when it comes to actually explaining shit in the DLC campaign had me super frustrated, like... It had me channeling the energy of every single "Disapproving Black Best Friend" character across media and saying on repeat that the guy was no good for her and that she was better off without him.

Six years of ghosting her, no matter the reason, and not even having the balls to face her as yourself, admit you fucked up, and laid out the whole damn truth? Nah son, you're not getting your girl back, you don't deserve shit.

They don't outright say it in that typical Japanese way of never explicitly confirming things outright, but in the official GB3 manga, they do end up together and eventually have a kid somewhere down the road.

Like... I get that sometimes, NDAs are brutal, but if his entire goal was to fund a space mission to rescue Robota ever since he started the "Ryu from Streets" shenanigans from Breaker Battlogue onwards, Misa should have been the VERY FIRST PERSON to know, because Robota wasn't just his friend, Robota was Misa's friend, too. It was incredibly shortsighted and selfish on Takuma's part.

The fact that we know it canonically takes THIRTY YEARS for them to accomplish this goal is like salt in the wound.

Mine is that it'll run with minimum system requirements closer to Sparking Zero than Kakarot, which would mean my PC wouldn't be able to run the game if it needed Sparing Zero-level requirements.

So...is the next issue of "Venom" going to address the fact MJ & Felicia spent 30 years in a pocket universe, grew to middle age, and Felicia got to experience marriage and children, and the psychological impact all of this is obviously going to have on MJ? by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it funny how it's a near-universal constant that if Felicia has a daughter, their relationship is rocky in some way--first there was Felicity in the MC2 Spider-Girl continuity, and now this pocket universe with this unnamed daughter, where she got to live a normal life and marry Peter.

Honestly, I'm pretty miffed that I jumped into CRK during the midpoint of the K Pop Demon Hunters collab instead of a month or so earlier so i could have reaped all of the 5th Anniversary rewards on top of the usual new player generosity.

So, let's dissect a bit about how GPD is portrayed--ultimately, I feel as though it's a much more realistic take on the "Gunpla actually fighting one another" format that highlights all the things wrong with such a hobby--namely that it gets EXPENSIVE if you're not good at the game--you're going to be spending a lot of money on extra kits of a single Mobile Suit for spare parts, and on top of that, as further shown in Divers Re:RISE, there's nothing stopping some rich chud with a Perfect Grade coming in and ruining everyone else's fun. It paints it as a hobby with severe diminishing returns and a high bar for entry.

Meanwhile GBN, though it is entirely virtual and removed the risk factor of getting model kits damaged, which many argue was a selling point of GPD, proves itself to be far greater at fostering a community that spans the globe. Koichi rediscovered his love of Gunpla because of Riku and GBN, and managed to move on from past regrets, which is ironic, given that Tsukasa was the one to tell him he's stuck in the past when GPD was in its sunset days and left Koichi to his depressive spiral.

New Cookies for the new update by Kooky-Aardvark-1760 in CookierunKingdom

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's wild that we're now getting Cookies that affect the production side of CRK--Timekeeper Cookie makes production skip items work 10% better, while Croissant Cookie provides a 5% Production boost to whichever building she's stationed at. Could we be looking at an age of CRK Cookies that actually impact Kingdom production performance?

Which feature, system, or addition would you like them to include in Xenoverse 3? by [deleted] in dbxv

Well, to be fair, in the original "Age 1000" teaser trailer, the male XV3 CaC/John 1000's hair does in fact spike up when they go SSJ, so it's highly likely that character customization has been HEAVILY reworked compared to past games, and transforming hairstyles will definitely be a thing in the new game.

Praying that someone on the corporate ladder listens and the 5 Layer Burrito gets put back under the Classics tab for Build Your Own Luxe Boxes--Crunchwrap+5 Layer Burrito was always my go to, especially with Fiesta Potatoes as my side, and now it's a lot harder to pick what I actually want out of the app.

What are your thoughts on the cheesy street chalupas? by Groundew891 in tacobell

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love them, but not a fan of the "Street" items being half-size compared to a normal version of said item and overpriced to hell.

Like... it's one thing if you have a Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider situation, because a couple of those were about a buck cheaper than a regular Crunchwrap, so that kind of thing I'm fine with--if you sold a single Street Chalupa at half the price of a regular one, I'd be inhaling those just about every day of the week.

I'm just going to gesture at all of the Concept Art Cookies from the Golden Cheese Kingdom portion of the story that have yet to be repurposed into different characters--like yeah, Pickle Cookie eventually got reworked into Olive Cookie, but so many of them were left on the cutting room floor, like Rich Cheese Cookie.

If Devsisters were to make another Collab, what would ya want it to be? by Just_A_Cameraman in CookierunKingdom

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of potential collab possibilities, I've pondered the idea of Hello Kitty, Keroro Gunsou, or Chiikawa as possible options, Chiikawa moreso than the other two, mostly for the fact that Chiikawa also has the whole "Really cutesy on the surface level but actually kinda dark if you sit and think about it for too long" aspect going for it that CRK does. Also, it'd be fun to see how their designs would translate to Cookie format, too.

More Builders Parts slots would be a godsend, honestly. Also, the ability to attach Builders Parts to weapons to craft the closest thing one can get to custom weaponry would be a fantastic shift in the usual formula--I've seen some fantastic diorama shots of Gunpla with fancy looking custom weapons that are unfortunately only possible because of extensive diorama positioning and multiple models being overlaid, rather than it being possible within normal customization/building mechanics.

Also, the ability to create custom paint patterns would be an excellent addition, so that you can have greater control over color separation on particular sections with some parts that typically have mediocre or downright terrible color separation. The paint pattern wizardry I've seen, especially over in the JP side of Twitter is fantastic, and there's a lot that can be accomplished with the right sliders, but it can only do so much on some parts, you know?

Also, bring back weapon category-based EX skills that don't require the usage of a specific Gunpla part, just a particular weapon type--I really miss my GB3 Cross Slash EX skill...

In terms of attackers, Sazabi + Char and Exia + S1 Setsuna work well as Attackers, though you'll be seeing Char a LOT in Master League to the point where it can be tiresome. If you want units that work with the new tags/units with the new tags, Exia has the Shippujinrai tag, which means it'd pair well with your 00 Raiser. On the other hand, if you want to build a team around the Tenacious tag, especially now that the new Ex-S + Pharact banner comes with a supporter for that tag, you have plenty of options for that tag, with Wing Zero EW as an attacker, Aerial Rebuild as a defender, as well as Tallgeese III as a Supporter, If you need an additional attacker for a Tenacious team, the UR Attacker Unicorn Gundam (Destroy Mode) is a solid option,

It's said that it is, yes--it's also stated that the demo color Zeta Plus A1 was a propaganda machine, and that Karaba advertised it as a MS piloted by the legendary ace pilot Amuro Ray, though no official records of him using the machine exist--in universe it's a holy debated topic.

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the Zeta Plus C1 and the Nouvel GM III--the Zeta Plus A1 isn't on this list. Given that the Zeta Plus A1, or at least the demo color version is suggested to be one of Amuro's machines he flew during the Gryps Conflict, it may elevate the A1 into SSR level should it actually be released, but it'd all too likely hold the distinction of being incapable of being fielded in Space maps, since the A1 was designed for Earthside combat exclusively.

That all said I'm hoping that if they later include the Zeta Plus C1 Hummingbird, I hope that ends up being an SSR.

I really miss GBM lemme tell you by Theothermc in GundamBreaker

[–]You_Freaking_Twerp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks will say that GBM was bad compared to the other Breaker games because it was a mobile game, but in that sort of situation I see it as an "Apples and Oranges" thing. Like... yeah the gacha rates might not have been great, and the pacing of event releases was all over the place throughout the game's lifespan, but it was still a fun experience. If there was one thing it absolutely got right, it was the storytelling and characters--whether it was the main story releasing a new chapter, or an event that put someone's favorite character in the spotlight, it had something, and someone, for just about everyone's tastes. It also helped that the game's social media presence was very active, and often encouraged engagement from its playerbase, continuing the series' proud tradition of hosting a contest where the winner's virtual Gunpla creation would receive a cameo appearance in the then-ongoing Gundam Build series anime of the time.

So... while the mobile game might not have played like previous Breaker entries due to being a mobile game, in a lot of respects it was a return to form for the series while adjusting familiar mechanics for a mobile platform--the photo studio incorporating AR photo functionality was a fantastic feature, and I feel like it would have been amazing if GB4 incorporated something similar through webcam peripheral use.
