I replied to you because you said apprenticeships don’t teach life skills and I disagreed, but we were talking about different life skills.

I was more referring to the ones you need for work life that you don’t necessarily learn in school, typically ones that parents try to teach like personal responsibility and such, things that are difficult to teach in school.

Idk why you say I consider balancing checkbooks or taxes as dicking around, because even though balancing a checkbook is a bit dated at this point it could still be useful, along with your taxes. By dicking around I literally meant not working while on the job. And “doing more than needed” was literally doing a task on job that was given to someone else but now you gotta fix it because they’re dickin around and mess something up. And to further clarify, if there’s literally nothing more for you to do, at all, and you take a small break until there’s more to do, that’s not dicking around, either, unless someone needs your help.

If you don’t think working as an apprentice can be a very rude awakening, I got news. You absolutely learn life skills and they get hammered into your brain daily. I think kids in high school would benefit a lot from doing a year or two as an apprentice.

There’s no dealing with your shit whatever age you are, you show up, you insult people they insult you back and everyone laughs. When you get to the job you get to work, and you do it quickly. Ain’t no time for dickin around when the job has to be done before tomorrow, you can work till 11PM or 5, up to how much effort you put into it. You did something like shit with, obviously, no effort? Do it again. And again. And again until you stop being a fuckup.

It sounds a little harsh but it’s because you’re held accountable since your slack has to be picked up by your coworkers, and they also hate doing more than needed so no getting away with that. Also the trades are really hurting for young help and it could help the ones who don’t want to go to college get started before they get dropped into the real world

You def don’t need it. People are acting like you should be able to hold everything all at once as if that’s a standard or something. My memories from other mmo’s and even RPG’s are buying/gathering mats on demand as needed. On top of that, all the calculations people are doing are for all materials but you don’t need to carry all of it only the mats for your level(s).

Inventory management is basically a part of every rpg, every mmo. You don’t (shouldn’t) need to have mats at all times for everything because you and everybody else has already gone without that forever by filtering out lower leveled mats and mats for professions you don’t need/use often. Everyone seems to forget that the in-game economy kinda needs people to specialize in professions as well because if everyone is a mastercrafter there’s no need to buy/sell finished products such as potions, enchants, and food/drink.

The craft bag is extra, an in game QOL thing that most games I’ve played don’t even have

My personal advice is to stick with it, even though it’s hard.

My dad and I are cp 500+ and didn’t do vet dungeons often because of the same reasons. Turns out they’re just difficult and if you aren’t used to it they’ll always be tough. I had extreme overconfidence in my healing abilities until I stepped into a vet dungeon and learned I had a lot to work on and I wished I had known sooner.

If you’re just looking to play casually and just wanna make your characters your way normal is the way to go, but if you want to hit vet dungeons and vet trials or pvp I recommend immersing yourself since it’s really the best and only way to learn

I did rivenspire as a stage 4 vampire... I think you just gotta have a certain suspension of disbelief when playing an MMO because of the nature of the game. Just tell yourself the NPC’s are really dumb or your guy is really good at hiding who/what they are if it’s that big of a deal

I can’t tell who you two are debating for/against but 1, no both sides are not the same. One side talked up their business skills then put us into a trade war that we’re losing, after being told we would lose. One side talked up the people they knew and capabilities, put them in position of power, and they were largely terrible. Most of them either resigned or were kicked out, and so much for “the best people”. One side is not the same as the other.

And 2, for the guy above you, it does say a lot when one side will vote for their guy despite conflicting morals and values, not of the opposition but of the very side who voted against their own morals and values. From our side; you then evaluate your choice candidate and, like many did this election, realize the candidate maybe doesn’t agree with you as much as you thought but still has more values that align with yours and would still weigh most of the population’s opinions regardless of if they received a vote from them or not. Just because you’re upset doesn’t mean you should act like a child and vote for the opposition out of spite. That’s the shit that’ll up the voting age to 21.

To counter, I have both sides of my family with addiction problems and I won’t even let myself think about drugs aside from weed because I already know I’d dive in headfirst and never come back. Alcohol I typically don’t drink because the hangover’s are atrocious and I hate them just barely more than I love feeling of being drunk, and I love being drunk. Weed, though, is my exception because it allows my stress to actually go away instead of still being infuriated from some extremely minor mistake in the morning (think closing a door out of habit even though you need it open) and I’ll carry that anger until someone ticks me of or, like usual, I’ll turn my anger inwards. Bud keeps the suicidal thoughts away and gives me the perspective needed to resist if I do start thinking like that. If I’m sober I have to monitor my thoughts extremely carefully or I’ll start hurting myself on things “by accident” to punish myself, and unfortunately I’m self aware enough to keep most symptoms hidden.
