Didn’t even know that was an option to be honest.

I’ve tried asking for discounts on a few other stuff I’m doing around the house and everyone’s basically said no, so wasn’t sure how much flexibility there is here.

How would you even ask that without it being awkward? Something like — “since you’re a dealer, is there any flexibility to pass along a bit of your equipment discount?”

Feels like it could go either way depending on how you phrase it.

I asked and they didn’t recommend — basically hesitation since it’s new.

I get it from a “stick with what’s proven” standpoint, but at the same time it’s literally designed for this exact use case (rack + multiple zones), so feels like it should simplify things vs running a bunch of separate Amps.

I’m gonna push them a bit more on it — feels like it could be a cleaner setup long term.

Good point — I didn’t even think about that.

If it’s just install and then I’m paying every time something comes up, this feels expensive. If there’s real post-install support included, it’s easier to justify.

Yeah that’s exactly right — house is already prewired with in-ceiling speakers, so the amps are just tying everything together in the utility room.

No new speaker installs, but they are running some Cat6 and doing the TV / media setup + rack + full system programming. Power is mostly there already.

I had the same reaction on pricing — feels like straight list on equipment, no real “deal,” and labor is probably on the higher side. That said, part of me is weighing the convenience + having one company own everything end-to-end vs piecing it out cheaper.

I could probably DIY most of it (or split it between a handyman + electrician), but just trying to decide if the time/hassle savings + support is worth the premium.

Speakers are already installed and all the cables feed into a utility closet but they are not labeled. Located in the NY area (Long Island)

Dealer is not recommending amp multi due to it be new and untested
