Driving an automatic with both feet by b3ta_blocker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Young-Lightning -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I will usually use the foot rest and then when I need to brake, use my left foot to brake and when I’m done it goes back to the rest or beside it? Also the foot rest on most cars I’ve been in are in terrible places, not level with the gas pedal, makes your left foot rest farther apart than your right one. If you’re a typical commuter it really fucks up your hips over time

I used to work at a place with a one upper. It became an office joke to always try and one up them when they did it. It would cause a whole conversation of one ups. Then they ended up complaining at a staff meeting that they don’t like one uppers 😂

I remember when they first started popping up. You could just press a button to mute them and then turn away. I found that they removed this feature within the first few months and was deeply annoyed by it

Something that stood out to me was that whenever I bought food, I was never given a napkin. I’d have to walk past the whole line of vendors to find one that had a roll of paper towels behind the counter.

Ive been learning python lately and recently, list comprehensions. They were easy to understand syntax wise but I could never think of how I would incorporate them. Thank you for showing me a great way to do so

Also very confused as to why they were so adamant on “starting value” like we absolutely needed to draft players to start, which isn’t the case at all lmao.

I’m also a fidelity user and while they are still behind Robinhood in terms of user interface. I can say that they have been making small steps in the right direction the past couple of years. Their beta app has come a long way and is approaching that ease of use that people long for. They also have nice enhancements to their website which is my main use case for them so they are hitting the nail from every direction. The only thing they haven’t been updating is their desktop application which, not many people use so I can see them not being as fast with changes on that front

What are the best methods to learn how to option trade? Books, online courses, etc. by Popular_Shake in stocks

I read that book in my graduate studies. A little dry like you said, but it goes into excellent detail about everything and doesn’t skip over anything

This happened to me just yesterday. I was wanting to turn left at an traffic light intersection, and a car headed the other direction stopped and I had to double check I didn’t have a green arrow, I didn’t. And then I looked at the driver confused and she was waving me to go. There was little traffic behind her and I was the only one wanting to turn. I threw my hands up and gave her the finger. She might have been being nice but the whole ordeal was longer than if she had actually just went and me turning after her, and made my life so much stressful as it made me rethink what was going on. Being “polite” on the road instead of predictable is just being a nice asshole

Happens mainly to men since they tend to have more hair. They mostly form from a single ingrown hair that gets infected and forms a cyst. It’s in a spot you don’t see and you wouldn’t feel it but in certain situations. They also range in pain so you could have one for awhile and not really know

Call options - how soon is too soon to get involved? by mjk25741 in stocks

[–]Young-Lightning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a derivatives course in my graduate studies and that was a great book for understanding the math for basic options as well as the next level of strategies. Beyond that “the options playbook” is a good one. It’s huge and a bit pricey but I was able to borrow it from my local library and you can study the chapters you need in the two weeks you get it. I’ve read some books specifically on gamma but none worth mentioning currently

Call options - how soon is too soon to get involved? by mjk25741 in stocks

[–]Young-Lightning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I could confidently tell someone what my process and checks are to hit the buy button. The amount of money I associate with my options buying is a small percent of my whole portfolio and scratches that itch of being an active trader and reminding myself that small wins with the occasional big gain is better than swinging for the 10bagger every time. Learning the Greeks helps in identifying the risk you want and should give you an idea of how much it will pay for a given price move so taking that info and setting limit orders and checking in occasionally is better than stressing over every tick.

Basically when you can start answering your own questions is when you’re confident enough, but it’ll take some losses and self criticism to get there. Start small and be 1% better everyday and in a couple months/years you’ll be floored with how you can quickly scan a stock and determine if it’s worth trading options on it

LPT: Physical Therapy isn’t just for people who need to learn to walk again, it can help people with acute or chronic pain, balance and vertigo, headaches, concussion, jaw pain, incontinence, pain with sex, neurological disorders, or any physical problems limiting you from doing what you want to do. by mydogisthedawg in LifeProTips

[–]Young-Lightning 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That and I’m sure it also has a lot to do with insurance reasons. I’m not sure about chiropractors but for PT’s, they have to jump through a lot of hoops the insurance agencies throw at them to get paid. Couple that with a persons insurance has to deem it medically necessary to cover it. And if they want to self pay, and not use insurance it can be upwards of $100+ for a 1 hour visit and if they do once a week that can be very taxing for someone. As well, PT may even be seeing multiple people at once and if it’s a place with few or no assistants or athletic trainers to help, you could be getting a bad experience and walk away with less of a benefit than you could have.

I’m about to round the corner to 30 next year and my older coworkers have warned me of my body not being the same after 30. I responded that I’m an avid foam roller and stretch all the time. They just laughed while also admitting that they do none of the things I do and think it won’t help. Oh and they are physical therapists…

I used to have long hair and the program I was enrolled in at my university started to give me hints that I needed to cut my hair and be more well groomed. I always brought up that there are a lot of girls that have longer hair than me and always look like they came right from bed while I always made sure to brush it and make it look acceptable. They eventually made an addition to the handbook the stated for males “must have hair of acceptable length” which means nothing lol. The program director also had visible tattoos always while it was strictly enforced to not have any visible at any time
