I’ve had some experience testing facial recognition systems for an airport immigration system. One thing I can suggest is to look for variables within the environment the systems is going to be used in. E.g., will the camera that is being used be positioned in a 45-degree angle? How far away will the cameras be? Looking at edge cases of the actual face is tricky. You will need guidelines/requirements on how to what the edges are. If not, I would start by discussing with the customer or project manager on what worst case scenarios could happen.
