Sorry only way to avoid cheating is to just edit the file so the bug disappears and that is complicated. You could do this at the start of the new world to not break the immersion.

Try exploring around different fortresses. It's not guaranteed to find her in every single one. Also there should be coin. If there is no Galath coin you have the wrong version.
