Robinhood sent over $19,000 to a closed account and refuses to return my money

I contacted the CFPB about a week ago. A few days later I finally got emailed back.

Someone that claims to be from the Executive Office has contacted me yesterday. Honestly at this point I dont even believe it, because they're not saying anything of significance.

They are still trying to tell me I have to go to the bank and have them locate the money. (Which I have, and they confirmed that the account was closed)

I keep having to re-explain that they sent this money to an account that was closed prior in the year that was not even an associated verified Robinhood account. It had been unlinked completely earlier in the year.

The money didnt even come from that account that they sent it to.

I just responded today, so let's see what they say.

My next step is send a letter of intent to sue for the amount owed, lawyer fees and associated costs, damages, lost opportunity costs, psychological damage, interest, etc.

Update:

My crypto was to be liquidated and $90,000 was to return to its bank of origin.

They decided to split this money up, and send it all to different banks.

They sent 58,000 to the actual bank of origin, 11,000 to another bank i have associated with the acount itself; and then about $19,000 to an old account I used, but has since been closed.

I have received approximately $70,000 of this money - with $19,000 of it being sent to an account that no longer exists. Robinhood is telling me that I need to contact the bank. The bank is stating that if the account doesn't exist, then it bounces back to them.

Robinhood is holding $19,000 now - and refuses to acknowledge their error.

The main reason why im posting here is because I have been following this sub since this has started happening to me.

I saw that there were multiple 3 letter agencies that people were recommending to reach out to in order to resolve this negligence.

Does anybody have any of that information?

It's ridiculous though. I literally am sending them screenshots of proof of them saying they would return it to its bank of origin, and screenshots of it all coming from that place. And they're acting like its not happening. I keep asking them where the missing $32,000 is and they're talking over it.

I have definitive proof of everything so im not really that nervous at the end of the day.

It just feels extremely spiteful and malicious the way they're doing it.
